Painted...but I did post-brighten them up a bit to best represent how he looks in real life...my camera doesn't capture that so well :/

100% agreed!...his lower torso the most...WAY too narrow...

How did you increase his size like that? I so want to do that to my model.

Your dev looks amazing. Do you ever have a hard time handling it with all at paint work? If not what do you use to seal the paint so it does not flake, chip etc?

It's a pretty big mod job. You need Unicron waist and knees, supreme Cybertron Starscream waist/thighs, Megamorph Hulk waist flaps and a section of Primus torso.....and some styrene......

You'll also need Echo's Shapeways ab extenders, larger wheels, elbow re-locators and thigh extenders (for the shoulders).

    Thanks man...labor of love :)

No hard time at all, at least not paint wise...the little ladders/steps I made on the other hand are quite fragile, so I have to be gentle with them when handling Herc...

but so far, the paint has held up great...Hercs mostly a display piece, but the paint has held up to all the posing I've done for photographs...I use testors clear dullcoat...couple/few thin layers...

Testers, hmm, might have to try that. Is the paint enamels or acrylics? When using testors dull coat, does it matter what kind of paint is underneath it?

    Those little ladder details=perfection!

The paint is both, but mainly enamels, especially for the dry brushing as it doesn't dry as quickly...

You can apply the dullcoat over either no problem...at least not in my experience :)

Just got the RoH set today, and I have to say it's a fantastic improvement. I'm with TigerBlade, though, in that Herc's proportions need improvement. Too bad the Rage set doesn't include thigh extenders. It's also a shame that the hips aren't as effin tight as the arm connectors.

Here is an interesting piece of history. FOund this posted in the photo archive of one of the guys who worked with TFC Toys from back in July 2010. Appears to be a mockup/concept of Exgraver made out of Lego blocks! Never knew Hercules started out as a lego design.

The caption under the photo translated to: "finally completed, ready to take Shanghai TF Annual Conference and Exhibition." and then he complained he could only display it in one mode.

    The final Exgraver.

Not sure if it's news, but it would appear that TFsourse has the Hercules addon set up for preorder, so anyone who wanted this but couldn't justify paying scalper prices on Ebay may want to look in on this. Again, not sure if this is news, but there it is.

Yes including part of the vehicle body in the legs seems to work nicely design wise. as well as giving you some nice solid feet in the process too.

I wonder if there's going to be a smaller scale Hercules KO soon to go with the smaller Scale Star Cats Rescue team KO ?

    Damn. I'm trying this now.

    EDIT:
    Tried it.

<WARNING DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THIS CONFIGURATION>

It breaks off more octagonal gray female connector on BOTH Scrapper AND Mixmaster. Mine got really loose to the point that when I use longhauls combiner piece, both Scrapper AND Mixmaster just falls off.

Found a solution just as quick as fucking up my toy using that configuration:

Switch Scrapper's and Mixmaster's octagonal gray female connector with the ROH set of octagonal gray female connector.

After the switch, for some reason the gray male connectors work better than the green ones. ie. the shoulders are not affected at all.

Imagine the above will work for people who fucked up theirs as well OR have loose Scrapper and Mixmaster legs.

Sorry that happened to you. Did not happen to mine. The shoulder extenders did however take tools to detach from here's shoulders the first time I set it up. Maybe they loosened after that?

    Yours is brand new?

Mine's the first version and have been playing with it since the beginning AND never had loose legs.

Upon trying the config, all of a sudden the legs were extremely loose that both legs fall off after trying the default config.

I've been wondering about how others' legs were loose like that. Now I know why.

No worries though. I found a fix almost immediately. No harm done.

If yours get loose in time, you know what the culprit is.

What's funny is even with the extensive play, mine never got loose until I tried that config.

Mine was an early batch for sure. But it came with the replacement hips and crane, which I never had to use. Never had any serious issues with mine. Other than the rage kits connectors being super tight at first.

I picked mine up from the Post Office depot this morning, and can't wait to get home and assemble it.

I was surprised at how bug the box is though.
