No, not likely. MP Soundwave and Thudnercracker were both confirmed via TRU listings before they were actually announced, so I can't imagine they'll switch to Screamer at the last minute. Most of us think Hasbro is doing the "make 'em buy the same toy 8 times" scheme, where they put out everyone but Starscream first to get as many sales as possible, because there are a lot of people who might stop at Starscream if he were coming first. So I expect Sunstorm this year, "Firestorm" (red) next year, "Icestorm" (light blue) the following, "Snotstorm" (beige/light green) after that, Skywarp next, "Captain Fabulous!" (rainbow), and any number of others before they put out Starscream in 2034 for the 50th anniversary.
As long as they keep releasing every seeker but Starscream, I will continue to pass on the annual Hasbro seeker release.
It goes both ways I've seen people complain about Takara mp quality issues and say how dare you Takara I'd expect this from hasbro not you. Just because it cost more doesn't mean it wont have defects it would be impossible not to. There is no such thing as a perfect production run on anything no matter what it is.
Honestly, if someone only wants Starscream, he's not going to buy 8 repaints of the Mp11 mold before he comes out
I figured as much. Thanks. Wouldn't mind a "Firestorm" actually. A red F-15 seeker would be kind of bad-ass. It's a shame Hasbro just won't go with a Starscream. Sunstorm is going to sit around like Acid Storm did. The Thundercrackers at my TRU sat around, too. But all of a sudden, they sold out fast after that. No sale either. Regular price. I guess I'm going to have to shell out $200 for a Takara one then. Ugh... Sh**storm is the one with the big temper. best not to forget him!
Well, yeah. But there are some people who might pick up Acid Storm or Sunstorm while waiting for Starscream. Its funny, I thought Acid Storm was going to sit around forever too, but he's completely sold out around here. There are 3 TRUs sort-of close to me, and two of them sold out over Christmas. The one closest to me had 3 in Jan, 2 in Feb, and sold the last one a week or two ago when the last 20% off coupon was out. I'm guessing Hasbro made less of them than TC, but around here he sold out around the same time last year.
Honestly though, that would be cool if they did make an "ice storm" variant. I think a red seeker would be an easy seller too. I said it earlier, but sunstorm could be a great figure to paint up to representhotlink...or atleast that is what I am gonna get him for. Coot
