So TF5 is gonna come out after I graduate college. I'm gonna be so old   lol

 

Color me depressed. While there are moments in the films I really love there is just so much I don't enjoy and the occasional cringe it's so bad moments. More of the same until Bay is too old to sit in the director's chair any more.

At the rate they are killing off Decepticons you have to wonder how far down in the barrel they are going to have to reach for Decepticons that at least mildly seem like a threat for the first 1/4 of the film.

 

I'm getting the feeling its a 3 year wait just encase TF4 bombs. Either way - not entirely psyched for TF5, if anything I'm more interested in a potential TF6 (2020?) as I'm hoping for a live action Unicron with a good toy version and then a reboot with a new director who knows what they are doing.

No one knows yet. Bay's supposed to be leaving after this one, so it won't be him.

I, personally, wouldn't be surprised (nor bothered) if he came back, but he said before in an interview that he plans to leave the franchise in the hands of another director.

 

I'm sure that Bay will be back. This is basically his Movie series at this point.

 

I shouldn't be surprised that they are making a 5th, but I thought they would have at least waited to see how the 4th did before starting such plans.

 

What would they consider a "bomb?

$300 million?

It's going to make $500 million worldwide without a doubt. Is that a bomb?

 

I think the wait is a simple thing to answer. The summer schedules fill up quickly because every studio is attempting to pump out their own massive franchise films. Too many and it gets hard to make a good opening weekend profit if you get released at the same time as another big film. It's likely Paramount even had a big film planned for the 4th of July time frame so push Transformers 5 so they don't step on their own box office toes.

 

Lets face it, he will be back.

 

No its not a bomb, but it would not be the studios expectations.

Sounds like they're making an overlying story to the next trilogy, which is great! Glad to hear that the film franchise isn't approaching an end anytime soon, because they're fun as heck to watch.

2. 2016

as in 2015-2016 there wont be any movie or anything (aside from production). so i count it as a 2 year Bayformers-less break, as i dont think we should count 2017, as thats when the film comes
