Honestly, it depends on everyone's taste. Like many other people, I'm not thrilled about their new stuff, but every once in a while they get something good. Iridescent was a great song from a crap album, plus Castle of Glass is a masterpiece. If we're lucky, this'll be the 4th straight good song for my preference.

To be fair, Heavy Metal is very hit or miss for me. The only Heavy Metal band I like is Metallica, even though I rarely listen to them, but AC/DC and Black Sabbath I really don't like lol.

They were ok in Middle School. Now they're just here for the promotional opportunity. I never considered them the "theme" of the movies either.

 

I like Linkin but I wish they would also bring in someone new.

 

I think it's runs deeper than that though. In previous movies the Linkin park songs were everywhere, we all watched the trailers a million times and those songs became synonymous with the movie before we'd even seen them,and right when the movie ends and your left formulating your first impression "Bang" it's there again on the end credits, colouring your view. Now if you hate the song, and band, because you think they're a weak ass, emo, angry at the world, let's all get depressed coz my girlfriend left me, pop rap rock mess, that feeling is gonna pollute your regard and memory of the movies, which let's be fair, are difficult to like anyway, but we try our best because at the end of the day, we all want to have transformers on the big screen.

 

I still fast foward past the linkin park scene in DOTM. Needs more metal since the movie is about metal. Throw some Fear Factory or something in there. Linkin Park lol

Dude! It's a freaking band that will honestly have no significance to the story or change anything in the movie! It's just there for the entertainment. That's like saying the intro song to the G1 Transformers changed the story and it made everything suck.

 

Yeah, but it didn't though did it! The g1 movie intro was fun energetic cheesy 80's rock song, that opened a fun energetic cheesy 80's feature length cartoon. It was a perfect match. The LP songs are depressing generic post 90's teeny pop songs that are supposed accompany a fun energetic over the top alien robot invasion movie. I think there's a difference there!

 

As I recall, the only one of the three that did that was Dark of the Moon.
