This is a Bay Film. Chances are the scene involves something to make them be scared but look doofy at the same time.

Don't act like you speak for all of Europe. Ever hear of an Italian gun manufacturer called Beretta? For fuck's sake.

Beretta is Italian, but they're not dumb enough to let people actually carry them around in Italy, are they?

What you've done, is make an excellent point about an arms manufacturer being allowed to advertise their guns on a kids toy tie-in movie, but then you made the douchebag comment about candlelit vigils and lost all credibility.

Not all Americans are pro-guns and even a part time Americaphile like me understands the need to be able to use a rifle in the countryside, and yes, even a handgun, as in the example with bears and mountains earlier. That said the fact the US allows people to have them in cities - well, that's BS crazy and the death rate facts speak for themselves.

The real issue here is the morality of letting an arms manufacturer on board. Paramount - more likely Bay - must've allowed this, and that's up to them, but for Hasbro it's morally reprehensible.

And as an American who lives in America I can tell you that States/Cities that allow carrying of pistols have far less crime than those who ban carrying of weapons. The two cities that have the highest crime and Murder rate- Chicago, Il and Washingotn D.C. and both hand pistol bans until the US Supreme Court found the ban to be unconstitional.

Its a PROVEN FACT- and the FACTS come form the FBI - states/ cities with open access to weapons have a far less crime/death rate than those with severe laws/resctrictions on weapons.

No offence, but that's just nonsense. The fact is your gun murder rate is eight times higher than countries with a similar social, economic and democratic position to you.

And the voilent crime rate in countries such as Austrlia and England using weapons such as knifes is 10 times higher than what it is in the US.

And you are lumping the whole country into one. I know why you do it, but you have to realize half the country has laws that allow these types of crimes to happen, the other half of the country has less restrict laws and the crime/murder rate corrsponds with it. There are federal laws, but those are the basic baseline. There is no "National standard in the US other than the Federal background check

The states with "open access" such as Arizona, New Hampshire, Texas etc, have much lower crime rates than state that have restrictive laws such as California, New York, Massachusetts and Conneticut ( who already had strict gun laws during the Newtown shooting)

Well, that would be because he's not aiming it at them, but that piece of plexiglass (or whatever it is) in front of them. They're showing it off to whomever is holding it.

I do, if you also notice, the forefinger isn't on the trigger, either. This is a show and sell segment of the film, people, nothing more.

Exactly. Criminals are criminals. They don't follow laws, and gun law is no exception. If you melted down every firearm in the US, people would still find another way to kill each other.

Regardless of your position on gun ownership, I do think it's messed up that they're using this movie as an advertisement, but it's not like highlighting the specs will mean anything to a child anyway.

That image is weird... it looks like it was badly cropped, or maybe she's putting on a smile in the face of danger or something.

Ok wow, looking at the Company Website -

    Salient Arms International

This is a Brand new company - they are using TF4 as a platform to launch their new gun line and I thought it was just a promo company / side venture just for the film...

This is in very very bad form.

Agreed. (cross posted with you originally BTW)

I think whatever our position on gun ownership is, we could all agree this is well off. Shocked at Hasbro if they knew about this, tbf.

Really, though, who's going to notice a pistol as marketing? Unless someone in the movie outright says the company name, make, model, caliber, etc, the average person isn't going to get it. Children have no concept of gun manufacturers.

To everyone BUT gun enthusiasts it's nothing more than a generic black gun.
