Day 2: I like how what few items are missing (i.e. extra 5mm mounts) are simple to add.

Apex' alt mode strongly reminds me of a Homeworld bomber crossed with a Border Worlds fighter from Wing Commander.

This date back in 2013, I ordered those two off of BBTS and enter the world of 3rd party figures.

One year later, I now have fourteen 3rd party figures in person and some more on preorder.

What started the madness, along with the latest as a result:

Has anyone noticed stress marks on the thigh swivel? Both of mine have pretty good sized ones both in the same place. The thing that has pissed me off about it is that i only have transformed them to bot mode once out of package and put them on display.

Edit: Is there anyway to fix plastic stress marks?

I've heard that you can use a hair dryer to heat it up to get rid of the Stressed area. But be careful not to melt the plastic or losses the joints.

Start on a low heat setting and gradually increase. You don't want to up the surface temp of the plastic too quickly.

The thighs on mine seem loose ... moreso on Topspin. Other than that though, I am very pleased with my purchase. Very fun set.

I just got mine today, and Geminus' extra head came packaged in a zip baggie inside his "engine compartment" in the packaging. I'm rather pleased, since I was a tad alarmed when I didn't see the head anywhere in the shipping box.

Needless to say, very impressed! These guys were accompanied by FansProject Function-03 Smartrobin and Perfect Effect DX03 Warden, and I could not be more pleased with the quality of all of these figures! Attached some pics for good measure, with Platinum Optimus for scale.

Both of Min had wobbly hips with stress marks especially on not-TwinTwist - but the TFCon repaints don't have that issue and their weapons are sexier.

After a lot of floor polish though I'm pleased with them.

But why on earth didn't they make those shoulder screw holes 5mm Ports !!

A less intrusive way to store the guns in robot mode when using the hammers would have been appreciated too - such as on the legs or elsewhere.. perhaps a slot or hole someplace less intrusive or even in the arms - not a huge issue but I do something think - now don't drop him when the guns are plugged in or they might get broken off and don't loose them when he's in robot mode using the hammer.

Something I'd prefer to not have to think about as much.

Oh and the TFCon ones have a very loose gun storage ports I suspect this is so the chrome does not get rubbed though.

I haven't noticed stress marks on the thigh swivels, but I have noticed what look like they could be stress marks in front of the weapons ports on both figures. I can't really be sure, though, because of the way light reflects off that shiny, curved plastic. It's possible it's just a trick of light... or maybe not.

Also of note: Be extremely careful with these figures thumbs! My Apex has a very noticeable stress mark on his left thumb now, and I suspect it's from posing him with both hands on the hammer. I noticed that the thumb was flexing a little while I was posing it and that's when I noticed the tell-tale white line. It's only really there if there is anything putting pressure on the thumb, which is pretty much any time he is holding a weapon in that hand. I worry that the thumb might eventually snap off, and sadness will ensue.

I really love these guys, though. Considering the other awesome figures I have recently acquired, it should say something that these two have become my go-to figures for playing, posing, and photographing. There's just something especially dynamic about them that makes them look very active, and they are both quite photogenic. While Warden is quite possibly the single most beautiful 3rd party TF ever... hate to say it, he's just not quite as much fun to photograph, and his face is just hard to get out of shadow enough to look good without him staring up at the sky.
Anyway, suffice to say that I cannot recommend these two highly enough! I seriously need to consider attempting my own video reviews of these two, Platinum Prime, Warbot Assaulter, PE-12 AFX, Warden, and Smartrobin.

I broke the thumb off of the left hand of Geminus a few weeks ago..I swapped a different gun (generations Kup) into his hand, pushed down on the gun so he would hold it more naturally..and then..snap. The good news is, it does not affect his ability to hold his weapons. But my OCD won't let me forget about it when I look at him! But these figures are amazing. I absolutely love this set

Just picked up this pair at a Toy Show this past weekend for 50 bucks. I like them, only qualm I have is the shoulders. I think they sit a tad too low which looks off to me.

I feel like the torso should peg together better as there are rectangular tabs and slots at the front of the shoulders, but the peg holes for the weapons extend too far into he back to allow a more snug fit.

I love these guys. Easily one the most under-rated 3P items yet.
