Definitely. I'm wondering if that weird black mark on the bottom of his chin is a prototype error, given that it doesn't appear on the smiley face, seems crooked, and isn't part of his lip. If so, I think that throws things off a bit and he looks a lot better without it:



EDIT: Actually, looking at it, I'm pretty sure the black mark on the bottom of his face is just a paint scratch. It looks like the prototype is black, spray-painted grey - there are a few marks where the black is showing through.

Definitely. The blurred shots made the eyes look tiny, but they are perfect. And I think you are right, it's the long nose that is bugging me the most, too - file it down a little and I think it looks a lot better:



I'll be a bit nervous taking a nail file to a Masterpiece's face, though! Still, these nitpicks purely arise from this being the figure I've wanted for 30 years, so with all that build up it's inevitable that the real thing isn't going to exactly match the "ideal Bumblebee figure" I've always had in my head. It's pretty damn close, though, and I'm looking forward to Christmas - which is slightly ridiculous for a grown adult in March...

I think there is a crease there to match the animation and revised animation head turnaround model. It's to accommodate his chin jutting out in side shots. I think someone posted screen shots of this already, taken from the end of Trans Europe Express, I think.

Wonder what the yellow's going to look like and how dark the black will be. TT's Rodimus Prime's spoiler is a nice rich yellow. I'd be happy with that. Wonder if he'll have a chrome or silver bumper...?

 

That subtle tweak makes a huge difference, man. Much better. Toei animators drew TFs with noticeably blocky upturned noses, even in 3/4 downshots, so that's how I always think of them. Still, I'm not going to alter my MPs in any way.

I like the face designs. No complaints there. I just want to see him standing next to another MP car for scale.

I don't see it as a battle mask. It's so simple. I think it is the 1st face/original face of bumblebee g1 toy.

But darn MP Bumblebee is lookin good! Better than the mime ******ed face of movie bumblebee

 

I like it overall and am glad to have the G1 toy face option. I do hope his cartoon face is lined like in the series to minimize the puffy look of them. BB's face looked mostly flat in the cartoon but this has more human definition to it that I'm not wild about. A definite buy in the end though!

Wasn't expecting hollow forearms on an MP...still a definite buy, I was just expecting some sort of forearm cover for a Masterpiece figure.

i think it will look much better once its colored but it does look a bit fat faced at the moment.
