Love what I saw in this trailer. I really wish the movie would keep this tone throughout the movie. I don't mind a little humor but please Bay, for the love of unicron, cut down the stupid ass comedy. Also nice to see they didn't forget about Ratchet. I really wish we could've seen some Cyclonus. Is he even in this movie?

 

It doesn't look great. They've added more detail to the animation and textures in some shots, but the lighting and shading still make Optimus et al look more like animated oil paintings than real, tangible objects.

It's a problem that's been prevalent from ROTF onward; I understand from an acquaintance who works in the VFX industry that starting with that film Bay wanted more of a "automotive showroom" feel for the Transformers, so ILM started using lighting rigs that mixed what was accurate to the live-action plates with a polished idealized lighting setup. It's never looked completely photoreal to me eye since then as a result – ironically, I still feel like they did their best work with the first movie. Nothing has looked as real as that shot of Bonecrusher and Optimus charging towards each other on the highway...

 

Eh... a little more help. What did Optimus said after " I don't think it's a Truck at all" ? Thanks~~

 

he says "Calling all Autobots."

 

I put my headphones on to block out all other noise in my house and he does indeed say "Calling all Autobots."

This, exactly.

The first 90 seconds of the trailer had me believing again. After that it was the same old, same old.

It was the same way with the first movie. The first half was great! Then it became a typical Bay-fest.

Looks like Grimlock has to be owned by Optimus before he'll fight with/for OP.

Looks like we have explanation for the minimal appearance of Ratchet.... which I am NOT happy about (minimal Ratchet, but no doubt multiple toy versions released w/ movie).

I'll keep my expectations low, thus less disappointment other than robots on screen & lots of   since he does admittedly do that well.

 

I am really liking the feeling of this movie so far. I'm hoping for a plot twist that puts a decepticon behind the "man made" transformers. So that 3/4 through the movie the "drones" reveal themselves to be decepticons. And their decepticon symbols suddenly appear.
It would be a cool way of bringing back the "reveal the shield" gimmick in the toyline.

Its not realistic to me that humans reverse engineer transformers perfectly. Either a decipticon is behind it all or this is set like 12+ years after the Chicago in incident at least.

 

Looks pretty awesome! Can't wait to see the next trailer.

 

I like that they've used Wilhelm for the last shot of this trailer.

 

I like the change in cast.

Michael Bay has never, near as I can tell, released a bad trailer.

Here's hoping the film itself is great as well.

 

If this trailer is to be believed tonally this is going to be a very different TF film. Personally I really dig it. Love the setup of Optimus being essentially dormant, which explains his new alt mode and will help to explain any other new alt modes as well.
