Okay for those of you who have not seen this show, you should before viewing this thread in order to participate. Transformers Prime has received mixed reviews, some good and some bad. The good parts comes from introductions of unique characters, some good story lines that have potential (RESOLVED WEAKLY), great action, and sometimes twists.

The bad thing that people did not like mainly about this show was the resolution of certain plot lines and minimal character development and back stories. This was simply due to Hasbro wanting to introduce all that "Beast Hunters" stuff in the third season thus eliminating time for other unresolved arcs and minimizing the development for characters.

Plot lines and Character Arcs that had potential:
-Mech Arc
-Arcee and Airachnid Arc
-Bulkhead and Breakdown Arc
-Optimus Prime Character Development
-Insecticons Fate
-Megatron Development

In this thread state what plot lines and character arcs could have been improved and how you would carry out these plans.

Ex: Mech repairs Nemesis Prime and builds more of their own Transformers threatening the public, thus possibly forcing the autobots to reveal themselves to the humans in order to save them.

 

Not a really valid excuse. Season 2 was pretty much completely wasted, and nothing was stopping them from making better use of those episodes than endless relic hunts. Season 2 had resolutions for several story arcs and other plot issues that were horrible, and that's not something that you can blame on the change of direction to beast hunters that came with the next season. Certain things can be blamed on the shift to beast hunters (I'd count Airachnid as one of these things), but not all.

 

Starcee, people.

And don't any of you try to tell me that Starcee wasn't a potential subplot, cuz all that's going to do is make me rewrite my essay. Too late, I've already started.

 

Neither to all i like Optimus but he needs a rest i would have liked to see another group involved from the get go.

M.E.C.H. were verry wasted i have always said TF needed Human advesaries think about it Autobots dont want to hurt humans. one wrong step and squish.

Most character arcs were decent but could have been done better. bring ing in characters for a few episodes just to screw with us or just refering to them is not cool.

Plus that Predacons rising add pished me off so bad.

 

Optimus Prime Character Development, Bulkhead and Breakdown Arc, and Mech Arc.

 

The writers did say that they had an idea where Bulkhead meets Miko's parents. I would've like to have seen their reaction.

MECH - that alone could be one season's storyline. *sigh* Hasbro should have never meddled.

Now that too I would have loved, chances are it would have made people warm up to Miko.

 

Same with Raff but hay Jack was the Shia guy i liked Miko though. there was just soooo much wasted potential here.

 

Oh look I voted for nearly everything....

Prime was almost a prefect show. It's only down side (other than annoying humans) was all these awesome plots that got start and ended to quickly or were just dropped. Which in turn hurt the show alot, n the end I think just about any and all problem with the can lead back to that.

Also what Bulkhead and Breakdown Arc? I know they said they were arch rivals for no reason. But that's just it. They were rivals for no reason. Much like how each bot got a human. The was nothing much else to it? Or did I miss something?

 

You should've put the BreakdownxKnockout bromance option there, Bro.

I voted for the Breakdown/Bulkhead rivalry. It was the most interesting and had the potential for name drops.

 

MECH was horribly wasted. Silas destroying his own organisation now that hes has a decepticon body was moronic. he had several deep cover sleeper agents within various branches of the US military. that sounds alot more useful to me than some orbital laser cannon with a shitty digital firewall.

hell Fowler weeding out MECH agents could have been a season's story arc in and of itself. and given us some kickass Fowler development, maybe an autobot partner of his own (Prowl)
hell with the army keeping Nemesis prime under lock and key, who's to say Uncle Sam isn't gonna crib some MECH notes, rebuild the control chair and take Nemmy out for a spin of their own? who wouldn't love to see Fowler behind the wheel of Nemesis, fighting side by side with Prime using his army Ranger training. maybe even getting some licks in on Starscream as revenge for cattleprodding him

 

Bulkhead vs. Breakdown, but really Breakdown in general. He's got a history with Bulkhead, a debt to Starscream, a partnership with Knock Out, a possible romantic interest in Airachnid, and seems to appreciate the Vehicons (or at least is willing to pretend to) -- all of which is unresolved and unexplored. As bad as the other arc resolutions were, Breakdown's death obliterated not only his own potential but the entire show's. MECH is just as much of a waste, if not more so, but by the time Silas kills his former team I had become so jaded with Prime I wouldn't have expected anything less.

 

Dude the whole show was a wasted potential.

 

they were actually going to expand on Bulkhead's injury and build up Breakdown's death and explain their background rivalry. Unfortunately that was not done.

Honestly I can't see Dreadwing doing anything else afterwards. I honestly think it was the best ending for him.

 

yeah Hasbro wanted to add the Predacons in the show, not that i think that it was a completely bad thing.

 

Right. Ending a highly anticipated story arc by killing the character ten minutes into the episode sure is the only way.
