I prefer his old face design

 

It's crazy how much CGI has improved in just 7 years. Or really 2 years, since ROTF was already a massive step up from TF1. That and the fact that they started recording Peter Cullen's mouth during voice overs.

I dig both. The new one's CGI is probably not finished but I like it a lot. It looks refined from the old face.

 

New face with the old body, best of both worlds.

 

While I would much prefer he just kept his mouth plate on all the time, at least now he doesn't have a massive camel toe for a nose. And his mouth now looks a lot less like the MCP's from Tron.

 

maybe the proportion looks a lot better now...but when it comes to over all look...i like the old one...it looks like it transforms into a truck...an alien robot...not some tony stark suit...it was a masterpiece...i would say...it was a good music...but now...its like justin beaver's song...the is no art...only business

I'd say the face is the only part of the new design I like. It's basically the old one refined.

 

I like the new one better, mainly because of the nose. The old nose bugs me. Either way, I still had to look hard to pick something; I cannot stand Optimus without the faceplate, so it doesn't make a major difference to me.

 

AOE. The nose is smaller and less kibbly.

I didn't used to mind the old face, but comparing it to the new one it looks so..weird and off. I really do like the more human faces the transformers are getting. Less strange and alien, though that's not to say the strange alien faces didn't work, I just prefer the new direction they're going.

 

You should really be comparing the Dark Of The Moon version to the AoE version - that way the drop in quality is much more noticeable. E.g. lack of scratches on robot mode, less car parts visible, etc...

I never noticed how large that nose was....New one.

 

Prime went Hollywood and got himself a nose job.

actually if you look closely, i dont think he so much got a nose job but more so, he got cheek implants lol His cheeks are now built up and almost at the same level as his nose.

By the sixth movie? They already had that in the second when the Decepticons wanted to capture Sam alive so they sent that 'sexy' human/pretender/robot to seduce and kill him because writers strike.
