Is anyone going to paint Deluxe Drift just to make him more accurate to the movie?

You damn right I would complain if it wasn't done right. My hard earned money is poured into this property too not just you or your buddies. How do you seriously look at the love they gave to optimus' design then accept the fact they give a half-assed effort for our Decpticon leaders? I guess you're going to tell me it's the greatest thing in movie cinema just too make me look like "one of those guys" huh? I've never said a cross thing about this movie until now, but that makes me what in your eyes exactly? I am not going to apologize for caring how my favorite Decpticon is re-imagined for a young and non-understanding audience. As far as your comment about what I would've like to seen? You didn't even come close, when I saw the trailer during the Superbowl, me and my wife, along with 3 other friends simultaneously said "Megatron or is it Galvatron" when we saw what then looked like a 2 headed dragon, but really another semi? Is that the only "badass" vehicle or alt mode on earth or did I miss something?

I love this Prime and Grimlock. I've been trying to make a custom G1/Movie prime mashup for years, and then hasbro goes and does it for me. :D

Those Dinobot heads look a lot like knight helmets. Future Botcon repaints to add to this year's theme?

Seriously, he is looking better than the Toyfare pics. I'll get him.

And given that he's in a film with man made Transformers it's obvious that this film is KNOCKOFF BEATDOWN!

Sorry I don't know if this is already been pointed out and if this is the right thread, but isn't anyone surprised to sad that there is no Cyberverse/Legends line for this latest movie line?

And no, thos FAB-like figures, though interesting, are nothing close to a sobstitute for relatively movie accurate, pocket-size, fun-infused Cyerverse Figures.

Let alone there won't be any playset to go with it... forget Lockdown's spacecraft or decent AOE figures to ride your voyager Grimlock.

Let's see, it's February 16 today, and it's rumored that the first wave will be released May 17th. So 3 months to go.

    "5 seconds later"

Ok, how long has it been now?lol

i am. i'm pretty miffed he wasn't black to begin with since i'm painting him into prowl colors and that would've saved me a lot of time to make him movie accurate.

Might as well throw in my two cents. Not interested in the cars shown (there's nothing wrong with them, but the three shown weren't special enough for me to add to the pile of deluxe Autobot cars). I probably will get Lockdown, but haven't seen it yet so can't say for sure.

Getting Grimlock at Leader and Voyager class - very happy that the dino legs become robot arms; yes, a weird thing to be hung up on, but bi-pedal animal modes where the legs become robot legs just seems lazy to me. And at both size levels I really like both modes.

Getting the Voyager Evasion Prime, but would have prefered the white/gray coloration so he could be Magnus. The mold isn't good enough to unseat my Classic's Voyager Prime, and with a mouth and all the slat-forming, it'd make a pretty good Magnus (frankly, I really don't care what Magnus looks like as long as there's a clear differentiation from Prime, and this is clear enough when compared to Classic's Prime).

Getting Galvatron. Truck mode is gorgeous, robot mode is...good enough.

Getting Slug, Scorn and Slash, going to pass on Strafe - just can't get behind a two headed pterodactyl.

And that's about it for AOE of what we've seen thus far. I find Leader Prime to be just awful (truck mode looks good, but it's just too big and empty, and the robot mode is terrible). Deluxe cars are OK, but as mentioned, just not good enough to drop the money for. Voyager Hound is good, but I'm just not feeling it.

So that saves up some money for the Classics Generations toys (Jetfire is awesome, and I've been waiting for a decent Leader Megatron for ages), which is good, I'm more of a Classic's fan anyway.

I'm painting every toy I'm buying to look accurate to the movie. I've done so with past figures too.

    OPINION TIME!
    Leaders!
Optimus is okay, the shellforming is still present but the higher complexity level makes it look a lot better, and some of the kibble is in places that makes it look like samurai-like armor. A la Drift, the one who made it cool.
Grimmy,is all sorts of awesome, and I notice that Hasbro abandoned the light gimmicks. HECK YES!!!!
Voyagers! (I reserve the right to use exclaimation points.)
Grimlock? What Grimlock? Hound is amazing. True, this is predictable, given his amount of portliness his kibble has a lot of stuff to fold into, but still...
Galvatron Car-slicer Mcevil is... good. He has a bit of a backpack, but at least it's fairly non intrusive. Love the cannon. Evasion Prime might be my Earth Classics Optimus, making me say YOTH MP-10? Who's that? never mind the fact he'll be in my Movieverse display whenever he's in robot mode.
    Deluxe!
Those Dinobots look like Generics jumped in random buckets of paint and became non- generics in all but head. Oddly contrasting with those Movieverse bodies. Drift is a robit samurai with swords. 'Nuff said.
Oh Hasbro, why must you make toys I'll want to buy?

The more I look at Slug, the more I kind of want it, but (now this may be a weird point to nitpick about) I can't get past any of the Dinobot's heads. I mean, they couldn't be more simplistic and ugly, and TBH, they remind me of knock-off Chinese Big Lots TF faces. The one time they're not bug faces, they go 180 degress the other way and make the faces simpler than G1 scramble city combiner faces.

The very unmovie-like heads of all the Dinobots bar Grimlock suggests to me he'll be the only one who transforms.

All of the Dinobots transform in the movie. This was confirmed by Hasbro.
