Oh man. It really does. Definately wish this was what we were going to see in the movie. I kind of like the one we're getting, but this one is far better. The head alone makes all the difference. He doesn't like the Swedish Walrus from Woody Woodpecker.

That prime design is before they inverted the red/blue on Prime. Originally, it was blue with red flames. Now it is red with blue flames.

That Optimus is weird looking.

If these are legitimate (I have no reason to think they are not) then we had a Ratchet design that was closer to G1 in theme, but someone chose to go with a differing version. But there was an Optimus design that was more foreign to the G1 theme, but someone chose to go with a version closer to what people might expect.

Those are two different paradigms for the same film.

I wonder what the first render of Starscream looks like.

It does look a bit toy-ish, I can see why they went with the other Ratchet design. Still looks pretty nice, though.

 

My eyes just screamed. Really.

And no one thought that there was not another Nighmare on Elm Street movie. Pashaaawww! Look, he's in our heads now making us think that is what Optimus Prime looks like.

One .. two ... Optimus Prime is coming for you.

 

I wish they had kept the head, at least. This design does appear more fragile, though, so I can see why they changed it. By why did the head go?  

 

That Ratchet definitely has some more Rachet-esque design cues, but to be honest he looks more "generic sci-fi robot" than the Ratchet we're getting. That, and he doesn't have a sense of scale that current ratchet has - he looks more like a toy adapted to a video game or film character...

That Prime is...terrifying. In a holy crap, what the world would be like if that thing had stuck, kind of way. There was obviously some serious pull going on late in the game to make sure Prime was undeniably Prime.

It's very, very Gundamish, IMO. Too close for comfort, perhaps?

 

Way better than the current Ratchet (probably b/c of the color choice), but the head still isn't very TF looking. For some reason, the head just looks generic too me. Still, I would've been much happier with this Ratchet (since I hate the other and can tolerate this one, which makes me wonder why they changed to the crappier looking paint job and head).

Ratchet looks pretty cool like that, still a chance that this could be used in the future though so he might grace our shelves yet.

 

I prefer the current Ratchet in every way except the head (for sure) and possibly the colour scheme.
