How the hell do these images get released? These are OFFICIAL images. Do they not review them to be sure they are correct? Considering thesse are for marketing products with the goal to sell products, this is inexcusable.

The photographer needs to be fired. Its obvious that that isn't the offical robot mode. It doesn't matter if he doesn't know shit about Transformers. You need to make sure what you are photographing is correct. Don't half ass it. Ask someone if it isn't clear how something is supposed to look.

Easy solutions for Hasbro. Pick one.

    1. Have the photographer work on the Transformer team so he is familair with them
    2. Have a Transformer team member present at the photoshoot and he sets up the figure so they are properly transformed
    3. Send 2 samples to photographer. Do not rely on someone to properly tf items. One in each mode. GLUE the toy's joints in place so it won't be mistransormed.
    4. TF team: Review the damn pictures. If they are screwed up, call up Jimmy Olson and say "Fail! Do it again"

    Added another.

    5. Have the person who designed the toy take some photos of it in all modes from multiple angles to send to the offical photographer showing exactly what it is supposed to look like in each mode.

Gotta admit the video caught my attention, and tapped into my much younger self, who liked toys like the Jumpstarters and Metroplex's lil' buddy Scamper, whom I could transform in under a second.

I've wondered about this since Energon was in production.

Here's some pictures so you can see what I mean...

    The chests look the same

The crotchplates both seem to have the "bent license plate" and gas cap

    The knee-caps look the same/similar.

Head looks like bees battle mask

...ok that Grimlock is impressive. August though? Not exactly striking when the iron is hot.

Are these meant to be the equivalent of Cyberverse? Some of the designs have come out quite nice but the problem with these in my mind is they are all the same size, all legengs and no comander which is a shame.

Hasbro usually introduces a portion of their new pricepoints during the Spring/Summer, then rolls out additional assortments after stores begin doing their pre-holiday resets (August/Septemberish). More recent examples in the past were the Prime Cyberverse vehicles and the Bot Shots Ultimate Battle sets.

I think its less "not releasing during the movie" and more of "retailers want more product closer to shopping season".

Yeah, after seeing them in action I must admit as a kids' toy they look pretty cool, and I totally get why they're doing them. I think it's really easy for us to forget that the world's a different place from when we were kids and everything's faster and more immediate, and whether we like it or not, it's something that all companies have to cater for. As a kid playing with the figures telling a story etc. which is what I would've done when I was 7, 8, 9, then something that converts in 2 or 3 easy steps or has an action feature would be pretty fun actually. I think we forget that a lot of the figures we grew up with had very little accuracy to what we saw on screen or in comics (especially in G1) but we didn't let that stop us having fun, and I think the ones that I spent the most time playing with were the ones that I didn't have to faff around with too much, like the combiner limbs and mini bots.

I'm glad we've got the Generations figures, because they're great things to display, but I think the new Robots in Disguise lines may surprise us, maybe not all of them, but with multiple lines it seems that Hasbro are testing the market to see what works and which of them to fully invest in for the later series.

That might be his legit (all be very suggestive) attack mode.

I got some bad news for ya, I am normally a big proponent for proper decorum, but.. there are just some things that go way too far. and that was one of them. Especially when you take a few things into account.

    1. It's Bay.

Actually I guess that's all you really need to say.

Either I'm looking at his backside and his head is turned all the way around or the engineers really messed up on that toy.

My favourite part about these is the package art. That Power Punch Bee looks like a movie/Animated mashup. Nice.
