Didn't we already get an MP Megatron? I thought he was one of the first and was of poor quality.

Seems remiss to not do a proper Megatron, but maybe it has something to do with his gun shape? I mean, not an issue in Japan, maybe, but Takara might be looking at import sales. After all, this might be the very reason we haven't seen an MP Shockwave, either. Or maybe it's as simple as Hasbro whispering in Takara's ear: "don't do it. Don't. We can't sell that. Don't do it." 

 

Not really 3p'ing HG when the boosters look nothing like the VF-1 Fast Packs, faceplate looks more like Tekkaman blade than a VF and the alt mode resembles G2 Jetfire/Robot Masters R-Blade more than a VF-1 and SDCC Jetfire Skystriker. There's no case to be had with this one, HG had more bearing with SDCC Jetfire moreso than this

I like it. im in for one. the problem is finding it at retail. im still getting one or two of the better 3rd party offerings. this thing doesn't look like masterpiece quality, but skyfire/jetfire is a favorite of mine so ill keep more than one.

I just wish Hasbro would consider a "proper" distribution to ensure that more than 10 people get all 50 copies in the country!  

What if some horrible QC issue popped up and suddenly made all of these completely worthless???   I'd still love my copy, and would mod the necessary corrections anyway... but this scenario probably wouldn't punish scalpers enough to make them mend their selfish ways. The robo-rat-race goes on.  

 

If I were FT I would put it way on the back burner. Considering hasbros offering will be $40-60 and the FT would be $250+ (the the silhouette was about 3" taller than their scoria@$200) I think a huge chunk of their potential market just went poof. Even if their offering is better the itch will have already been scratched by hasbro. One thing I have noticed about my fellow third party collectors, patience is not in their DNA. Then factor in the daca toys competition for the third party dollar...

This Gen Jet/Skyfire definitely scratches my Classics itch but my MP itch is another matter entirely. And the only cure for this medical condition is a G1 accurate, Supreme-sized+ Skyfire. FT still has a viable market there, methinks.

Yes, MP-05. He had chicken legs. And like MP-01/MP-10 and MP-03/MP-11, Megatron could stand a do-over.

Takara does the MP line and, when we're lucky, Hasbro brings the line over to the States and other countries for release. Which is why we never got any number of the MP-Releases and may not yet despite rumors otherwise. So, MP-Shockwave could happen much like MP-05 did happen. If anything were to keep an MP-Sockwave from happening it would be because MP-Shockwave would too closely resemble the IP of another company [whatever Shockwave's mold was before he was Shockwave].

 

Man this just made Classics/Henkei Jetfire/Skyfire practically obsolete!

 

I can't believe Hasbro is following up AOE Leader Prime with this! Talk about a swing! At least we know they can still bring it.

 

My all time most favorite Autobot is finally getting his due.
