Nothing special, the head like Primes rotates down into the chest, the launcher likely just comes apart (missile / launcher) and plugs into the shoulder like Sideswipe, and the feet just shows the detail of the feet.

All it does is show the detail of the pieces that can't be seen in the full pics.

Yes, particularly going off the diagrams, Wheeljack seems to most pleasingly occupy a middle ground of chunkiness between the other MP Autobot cars released so far and Soundwave. I should probably get on with one or two RK preorders soon, if only there was some way of knowing if the Amazon exclusive was still available.

What are those pieces shown above the launcher?

What is it saying about his wrists?

So the feet aren't parts-formed, right? I saw some speculation based on this drawing that the bottom plates of his feet need to be attached, but that doesn't sound right.

    Thanks!

Pieces above the launcher are different views of the swiveling plate that the head attaches to (compare it with the front view of Wheeljack's head in bottom picture). Not sure that it says anything about the wrists: the detail shown seems to be his knees (and I'm don't know what the text means).

No way will the the bottom of his feet be parts-formed: again the separate pics of his feet are just detail drawings of those parts. Like Shadowfall1976 mentions, it looks like the launcher will not actually fold into the chest, but will plug in.

Love these drawings: they pretty much give an excellent idea of how he will transform. Looks like the rear of his alt-mode almost completely turns 'inside out' to allow the arms and wings to come out of a recess, and the rear wheels to hide in that recess.

Sounds good. Thanks for clearing that up. See what I'm saying about the wrists, though? The bottom left of the foot/chest/weapons pic? Just wondering what the text says.

Wheeljack looks to be shaping up as the best "in the round" car bot yet! Can't wait for the color reveal. I've got the feeling he'll be much like Smokescreen, though, and please neither the cartoon purists or auto purists, though I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever they do.

Isn't it nice to not worry about 100% toon or real world accuracy and just be content with what looks good?

BTW, NOT trying to rag on anybody. If you want 100% accuracy, that's what you want, and I kinda feel bad for you because that is soooooo hard to get. :)

I was initally on the fence about getting wheeljack, but the latest Hasui pics of him in both bot and alt mode look fantastic. I'm sold on this guy unless they totally screw up his paint job. I can't wait for his release and MP Bee to join my autobots!

Hasui has been spot on with paint jobs except for Red Alert. WJ should be right.

What was wrong with Red Alert's paint scheme? Looks pretty accurate between toy and toon to me.

The toy accurate red thighs. A lot of fans, myself included, wanted the 'toon accurate silver thighs to match his forearms and feet. After thinking about it, TT may have missed out on milking this mold of another repaint. They could've had a G1 toy accurate Red Alert with the red thighs and a black helmet and a G1 cartoon accurate Red Alert with silver thighs and a red helmet. I'm cool with what we got, though. Still looks like Red Alert and it will probably be the best Red we'll ever get.

Shogo Hasui on Masterpiece Line and Wheeljack
    Hey all,
According to this blog post by Snakas (Autobase Aichi) Shogo Hasui gave a short interview to Figure-oh magazine. I haven't read the article itself so just passing on some details Snakas mentioned.

    - MP Wheeljack's colour scheme in vehicle mode is close to the real car, but he tried to make the robot mode's colours as close to the cartoon as possible.
    - WJ's shoulder cannon can be attached to the car roof.
    - WJ's Wings on the back do not require detaching when transforming.
    - Thanks to Tomica (Tomy's Hot Wheels size, real vehicle base toy car series) it has become much easier to negotiate with car manufacturers. (I assume easier than when dealing with them as Takara, since Tomy has long-established connections thanks to Tomica)
    - The sales of MP Lambor to Streak were excellent, and as a result, Smokescreen could have additional parts, and Wheeljack could be developed without considering re-purposing the mould.
    - The first 3 real vehicle MPs were meant to be "Super Cars".

So, has anyone seen this and is it real, or is it one of those fan digibashes that made it onto a retailer's site?

EDIT: Someone else found it earlier too (posted in the "Shogo Hasui on Masterpiece Line and Wheeljack" thread)

I say it's fake, if it was real, all the red on the hood stripes would be covered in alt mode by the windshield. That part of the legs isn't exposed in alt mode....therefore the stripes would not be accurate for the car.

I think it's a digibash. I feel like Hausi or one of the Japanese Hobby Mags would be the first source for a true colored model
