Those platforms on Grimlock look WAY better than they did as protos. Really hope they're available separately as I'd love a set for mine, even though I have no intention to buy into the whole dinobot set. C'mon FT, help out the lil guy!

I don't really like how their swoop looks.

They do a little bit but grimlock will still look disproportionate compared to Scoria.

I think the Price is fair for a 3P figure. The Reissue of Grimlock is $199 from Takara and this is taller with more parts AND it's 3rd Party....only thing that bugs me about the price is how can I get the money for it haha. If this is anything like i've heard of how Quakewave was, then for the price it rocks

 

Still wish he matched Grimlock's size, but he looks so unbelievably amazing that it doesn't really matter. Can't wait to have him. And the platforms for Grimlock do look better here. Guess I'll just have to see once I have him in-hand.

Way to blow the trailer news out of the water today.

 

Scoria and the rest of the Dinobots will scale well with all the MP after MP-10, which are taller than Prime, as it should be. A lot of fans want an updated and scaled v2 of Grimlock from TT, and that may very well happen, as they have with Prime and Starscream. If not, apparently, there is a ko company that is making an upscaled Grimlock. If Takara wont do it, and there is enough demand for it, FT will consider it. Otherwise, he looks great in Dino mode, and in bot mode, you just got to pose him right, or use the shoes, and if not happy. Personally, I am happy with the shoes and posing him appropriately in bot mode, and in alt mode, no worries at alt.

If FT did it to match MP-08 size, they would not be MP scaled, and that would be wrong in the long run (also imagine Takara does v2, that would be a disaster for FT if they underscaled the dinos). 10" Dinobots, bring it on!!!

 

The only thing that can make this thread better is some pics with Scoria standing amongst the official MP Autobots. I'm dying to see a shot like that now.

 

The price seems totally reasonable for what you're getting. Still a higher price than I can pay, sadly.

 

Two questions for dalianjj:

1. What are the chances of getting a translucent headpiece for Scoria's triceratops mode, either as a pack-in to the figure or as a later additional part? (In the same way that FansToys ended up producing a more cartoon-accurate gun arm for Quake Wave).

2. Similarly, would FansToys consider producing a replacement T-Rex-mode eye piece with chrome coloring for MP-08 Grimlock? (Perhaps as a pack-in with not-Swoop?)

 

This can't get here fast enough.

on another note, the chrome and chrome coloring on the color-sample Scoria doesn't look so quality...

Why wouldn't they be? Multiple face/head options is becoming a common trend in 3p figures due to people always being divided on if they want animation or toy accurate heads.

 

This guy is bad ass. Would have liked the alt mode to be not as long but that bot mode makes up for it. Love how the legs are engineered.
