Something unsettling just hit me.

While we haven't seen Grimlock's actual toy yet, we have seen LOTS of representations in promotional art.

The thing Prime was riding (skeletal with horns) looks nothing like the thing in all the promo toy art.

Are they even going to try to give us accurate toys matching the movie this time?

Ok. I see it now! Totally different scene than what I was looking at before!
So...the little Chevy is a Transformer! Hope it's not one of the Twins!! LOL

 

So I watched the teaser a few times again and I must have a weird eye with details, I can notice the old Optimus design in the midst of a few explosions but I didn't see Strafe/Swoop has two heads. Not sure how I feel about that but we'll see.

The one thing I'm thinking of though is..if Grimlock is that big in T-rex mode, imagine either how big his robot mode must be or just how much size changing there must be during his transformation.

 

The only art of Grimlock we've seen has him roaring, so his head is angled up and his horns kinda blend in with the rest of him. The only thing that seems off is the color.

 

You may have a point. But regardless, the color is a very clear and strong deviation.

I'd also wondered about that image of drift we saw that almost looked like it belonged in Prime or even animated. It looked very different from Bay's established style. Everything in this looked much more in line with it.

 

I still think it's not unlikely that the Dinobots do not even Transform - unless they are saving it as a surprise - some of the toys are dino only.

I wonder if he looks like a skeleton as his alt mode is inspired by a Museum display T-Rex ?
Oh and I note he has red eyes  

 

Tript just posted it.   It's a clearer look than what I saw in the trailer too: I only noticed the foot and overall shape.

Do you see G1 Grimlock's voice coming out of that Trex?

 

Well we do have one supposed robot mode design for a Dinobot in the form of that production hoodie but which Dinobot is still unknown. Pretty sure Grimlock will have a robot mode, same with Slug, but Strafe and the other two I think will stay with dino modes outside the toyline.

 

Maybe he's after the Matrix and plans on using it to revive Megatron somehow.
