:lol  I've been extra fortunate this past year, and decided to finally catch up on MPs. And for how much I'm having to spend playing catch-up, I'm hoping to never fall behind again!

I'm staying away from Quakewave because, if I get him, then I'll have to get the third-party Skyfire, Slag and Swoop...and I can't get THAT carried away :D

I'm also staying away from anything pre-MP-10, so I hope they make a bigger Grimmy.

As for the Datsun mold, I DO have Prowl :D  And don't worry, Bluestreak and Smokes will be mine.

Thanks again for all the input!

Just a heads up. If you are located in the U.S. you can get MP-18 Streak from toydojo.com for $59.99 + reasonable shipping right now. Its a really good deal he's got going right now. And everyone on the boards here would tell you how great toydojo (aka edbomber) is.

I'd defo get the Hasbro Soundwave + all tapes. Also Bluestreak and Smokescreen are musts. Quakewave is a must, and by extension I'd start saving for FT's Dinobots and in that respect I'd skip MP08 and wait till they do Grimlock aswell....he'll be better articulated, better hands and be bigger.

Well, yeah you will. But it's not so much a 3P addiction as it will be a FT addiction. Once you get QW in hand you will realize just how on par (or imo surpassing) with MP quality he is.

Honestly I'd give QW a shot. Just see if it's your thing or not. If not, sell it off and don't worry about it. But I think most people really appreciate what QW and FT are about quite a bit more once they have him in hand.

Imo FT and MP are a perfect fit together now.

FT Quakewave is such a fan favorite due to not only matching MP quality, but surpassing it in many aspects.

I put Quakwave and Soundwave in the hands of a non-collector who had no knowledge or interest in Transformers. I asked him to tell me which one he thought was the KO.
He said Soundwave felt like a cheap and brittle KO toy compared to the heft and material quality of Quakewave.

FT has a good reputation for good reason.

I think I'm finally happy with my current MP display...
right before I have to change it all around in a week or so to accommodate MP-13 :rolleyes2

I will probably end up casting most of those last few Classics autobots down to the bottom shelf.

Thanks! I JUST ordered Soundwave / Laserbeak and Rumble / Ravage from there, because that's the best deal I've seen for Rumble / Ravage, plus the free shipping at $150 or more. If Streak can stay that price for a few more weeks, I think I'll finish out the current releases with Toy Dojo.

You guys are sure making it hard to stay away from Fans Toys. Oh dear.

    Have fun, all!

    EDIT: Awesome set-up, id0ru!

Just got Prowl in! (waiting for Bluestreak and Smokescreen)
He's just awesome, perfect job by Takara.
No QC issues (except a tiny paint chip on the hood part that you have to hide under the rest of the roof in bot mode), so I'm happy.

Funny you say that cause I did the same thing with MP-10B and QW with a friends brother, who also likes TFs but has no knowledge of the current toy offerings. He's about 5 years older then me (around 38 I think). And as much as I love MP-10B, he said the same thing. Both me and my friend were laughing.

But I think the blind test would weight heavily toward QW in terms of quality. He just feels how you'd want a $150 toy to feel.

    LOL, who wouldn't say that?

    ...Hasbro Thundercracker, Hasbro Acid Storm, MP10B, MP11S, MP18, MP19.

I really do find those domestic prices to be absurd.

I've had bad luck with HLJ on preorders not getting filled, so I'm cautious with them. On the other hand, they do have very good prices.
