Paul Rudd was great in Anchorman, I know he will do greatly as Ant-Man. Hopefully this means we're also getting Rashida Jones as Wasp.
I'd like to see Wasp be played by Allison Mack who play Chloe Sullivan in Smallville. She seems to have the right kind of adittude and wit as well as a caring side that fits Janet's character.
Good actor, but I'm having a hard time picturing him as a comic book character. Then again I know practically nothing about Ant Man (and no, this is NOT an invitation to be lectured about the character. If I wanted to, I would research the character myself.), so for all I know he could be the perfect choice for the role.
So Paul Rudd is starring, but... Michael Douglas to Star as Hank Pym in Marvel's Ant-Man | News | Marvel.com So Scott Lang confirmed? Edit:
I have mixed feelings. Douglas is a great actor, but he'll never be able to take a credibly active superhero role in the MCU.Which hurts as a comicbook fan. Meanwhile, Hank has been on a roll with great stories (Avengers Initiative, Academy, Mighty Avengers, Avengers A.I, finishing off Ultron in AoU). Since the comics and movies often influence each other, I'd be pissed if Hank gets written off or put in a smaller role because of this. Like anything. Have to wait and see. I'm getting Batman Beyond vibes with the multi-generational theme.
I think fans are more concerned how's Hank's age will affect Jan than Hank. They missed out big time, Hank could have been used more along the lines of the Marvel Movie's Reed Richards since they can't use Reed and both were similar characters.
Perhaps Janet can be the love interest to Scott Lang instead of Hank or she can still be Hank's wife but like Hank can be the first Wasp and teach someone else to follow in her footsteps. It can go either way seeing as how the MCU does differ from the comics in a great way sometimes.
It's based on the old comic to steal an Antman. The new Antman steals the outfit from the old Antman, but it's to save his kidnapped daughter.
Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. Interesting choice. Or what if Paul Rudd is playing a young Hank Pym and the entire movie is a flashback?
Its Official: Lang is the Ant-Man of the MCU because it was Edgar Wright idea from the very beginning (aka 2006) to include both Ant-Mans but with Lang being the main focus (Henry being Ant-Man in the 60s, then skipping to time to the present with lang as ant-man) ANT-MAN Director Wright Explains His Pym/Lang Decision
Ant-Man (Michael Douglas co-starring as Hank Pym) Michael Douglas to Play Hank Pym in Marvel’s ANT-MAN Opposite Paul Rudd | Collider So Hank Pym and Scott Lang has a Batman Beyond relationship. An old hero passing the mantle.
