I don't think there is a way to tell them apart. When I bought my blind packs last week all the codes I got were the exact same but out of 6 packs I did get 5 different ones. The only one im missing is kindoh trooper. I have an extra kindoh quadrax for trade. I didn't see it mentioned but along with the blind bags the griffin/jet set came out last week also.
yeah I couldn't find any codes or anything unique either. Picked up the Sky Griffin set for my son yesterday.
I would say if the Titan toys were meant to do this it would've been mentioned in the instructions, unless it's something that will be mentioned with the wave 2 Titans. Theoretically they should be able to combine since they are just giant bricks after all. That Jet/Griffin looks sweet, can't wait to get it as it's being sold on Amazon, FYI they have the blind bags too but for like $9.95
Stopped by Target tonight, confirm the Griffin/Jet set (minifigs are Pivix and Tributon), the blindbags, and the previously TRU-exclusive dropship - I picked up the last wave 1 three-pack and a couple blindpacks just for crits and giggles. Quick thoughts - This three-pack Bravenwolf has a very slight change in accessories, with smoke-grey pistols and a pair of 2x1 tiles in addition to everything from the other three-pack. Leinad is quite literally just Kutor with a palette swap to red/white; I'm not unhappy though, those blade-rifles look really good in transparent red. Hos is the new one for me, and while the 'quadruped' brick's transformation isn't as dramatic as the 'dragon' brick, it also feels quite a bit less fragile. Either end can be the front with a balljointed neck, and I -really- like the BFG. Also worth noting that Hos' baggie comes with a lot of extra pieces that don't really fit on his official mode - one of those gold double claws, four 1x1 gold tiles and 4 2x1 inverters. Used the claw on his tail and the gold to jazz up Rho, but I haven't found a use for the inverters yet - out of three three-packs, one single, three Titan-class, and two blindbags, this is the first time I haven't found an immediate use for extra parts. My blindpacks netted me the yellow and blue Tenkai Trooper with his blue pistol, and the green Quadrax lizard-dude; the latter's wing piece looks great as a cape on blue, black, or green figures. Still liking the toyline! Thinking my next pick is going to be one of the buildable sets - if anyone wants to throw an opinion out, by all means.
I saw the episode and I'll have to check but I don't think the Titan bricks can fold like they do in the show for pants/shirt mode.
It took me a few, but I figured it out once I remembered the head can flip both forward and back. For pants mode, simply fold the head down into the chest, then fold the arms away. For the shirt mode, flip the head back, then flip the chest up, and fold up the legs normally.
Much as with Lego and MB, the minifigures can be surprisingly addictive, and the Titan-class figs are quite impressive in their own right. Going to have to try that after I get some photos of my alt-mode builds! I can see how it might lead to long-torso syndrome like the Energon Autobots suffered from, but a proper build can hide much of that.
Yeah. I bought the set in Jersey, and I didn't want to rebuild the set in order to change modes (I didn't want leftover pieces), so I decided to more or less build both models at the same time, and turn the Blastank into a chariot for Dromus. I did the same thing with the Sky Griffin, though I was able to integrate a few of the jet mode's parts into the Griffin, and used the rest on the Blastank Chariot.
Edit--Switched to a better picture. I looked at the video and messed with the two for a while, and there's really no way to combine them the way they show the Titan Fusion in the video. I think they just made parts vanish and shrink at will in the animation. The combo in the pictures above is the best I could get. Top half is in box mode, except for the head and the arms. Bottom half is in box mode facing backwards, with the legs swapped (i.e., taken off and switched) and rotated 180 degrees at the hip. I also bent Lydendor's arms to better balance the upper body on the legs and give the legs some room to move. He balances a little better with the heels flat, but he's not too badly balanced with them up and looks quite a bit better that way. He is almost a head taller, but he has a massive backpack. There are a ton of unused parts left over.
I hate to say it but perhaps we'll be getting new Titan figures that can properly combine with wave 2
