That is... way too many product lines for how much space Target typically gives Transformers.

I dunno about the Targets by you, but my Target usually expands the amount of space given to TFs around the time of the movies. Movie tie-in stuff usually gets stores to put more product out.

Ugh. Hasbro totally gave up on the collector, if that's the case. Wanting to simplify is one thing. Taking several giant steps backwards is another. There's no reason for a Leader to have that much kibble and/or big of a backpack. Sorry for the soapbox, but with prices being what they are, we're getting cheated big time.

They had for the first movie and Revenge of the Fallen, but by the time Dark of the Moon came around, they'd stopped devoting extra space to Transformer toys.

You might not believe it but I saw many parents buying them during christmas, since they are so big and seem cheap, most of them don't really consider if they even transform. It's just a huge, conveniently priced BB and OP for their kid / grandson. Poor kids.

These things aren't moving at all. They're just cluttering up the toy aisle. They didn't even sell for X-mas. Generations completely disappears in 2 days. Hasbro should stick with what sells. Hopefully the stores will be smart enough to stop ordering more. It's the only way to make this garbage go away.

I think the giant Optimus and Bee might be OK to buy to paint up a bit as a shelf decoration. so if the mould isn't to simplified in terms of surface detail then something similar might have some merit as an oddity.

I just hope they make lots and lots of Deluxes and perhaps the odd Botshot like 'cute' toy too. and they stay away from some of the fragmented junk DOTM had far to much of where you have a line with like 3 toys in it 2 of which are always Optimus and Bumblebee.

I don't mind them making things like Gravity Bots if they make multiple waves and stick with it - but DOTM got stupid the small Activators and the ones on levers are almost identical in vehicle mode and the transformation of the DOTM Activators makes them look like shrunk Gravity bots that cost more.

The problem with it is that ignorant Toy buyers over purchase the lower quality lines and then don't buy the better stuff when the rubbish fails to sell.

FAB's were OK as they carried on for long enough and featured lots of characters so if they remember that lesson it would help.

We should know more soon anyway there should be lots of test shots flying about in the next 6 weeks.

I also doubt Kre-O and Constructbots are sustainable long term they just don't sell in any great volume to b worth making them - Hasbro need new ideas for ripping off Lego - or perhaps they should just stop doing it.

I just hope target stores don't jack the prices up again. No way am I paying $20 for a deluxe when a they want to sell a voyager for only $22.

That would be a trifle "silly" wouldn't it.

I suspect that sometimes the price gets kicked up for one of three reasons.

    1) Hasbro mishandled the Oil Price rises when placing purchasing on the Plastic
    2) So stores can introduce an offer on them at time of launch to make them look like they are on sale.
    3) They made the toys bigger or added some daft accessory that jacks the price up

Some might say that greed that isn't often in the product's best interest is best avoided as lets be honest few want to pay $20.00 for supermarket toys that were previously $12.99. and $14.99-$16.99 (TOYSRUS) will be a hard sell too.

If the products are not up to much or the Movie has limited kid appeal for some reason (like Dark Knight Rises did) they could end up with some serious shelf warmers on their hands on some of the toys - I'm sure that will be the case with the products away from the core brands even if that isn't the case with the
    standard sizes.

Do Hasbro even have confidence in their 4th Movie toyline if the 2014 Product line still contains a lot of toys unrelated to the Movie even in a Movie year ?

I can't see how they can make a bad toy out of Hound though - here is hoping the don't succeed in doing that anyway like how they made a very banal Bulkhead in Beast Hunters which should never have gotten green lit.

These numbers will be useful but I fear those awful Playskool Beast Hunter toys will be released first and in place of the movie line until later this year.

Not really. It's great for people who want too keep something inexpensive on the office desk and wouldn't mind if thrown about. And kids would like them to have robot fights without breaking. I'd buy them myself.

I have to admit, if those 12-inch Titan figures are detailed enough, and enough of the movieverse characters are represented, I might be tempted to pick them up. On clearance.

And if 087-06-2593 transformers 4 rid optimus pri $32.99 is a 31-inch behemoth like those Darth Vader and Clone Troopers they got, I might have to pick that up too.

The AOE planograms are now loaded in Target's computer system. They will set the week of May 18. Probably just a few weeks to go now before the toys start shipping to the stores from the distribution centers.
