He is huge and imposing. And crazy. Just how I likes my galvatron

 

Surprised everyone is comparing him to every figure out there except his alter ego.... Hegemon.

This Galvatron will look real nice in the middle of my Decepticon shelf next to Hegemon Megs

 

I keep hearing MP Galvy tossed around so with an MP Ultra Magnus confirmed (Powered Convoy repaint anyone ) I'm betting my bottom dollar you'll get your wish by the middle of 2015.

I think this Mania is for us Classics collectors that have held for a good Galvatron for years now.

 

for those that care, you can hope that reprolabels will make stickers to correct the legs and cannon. expensive, yes. but it would be an option to fix the problem if you're not good at painting.

Does anyone have good scoop on release date(s)?

 

Robot Kingdom lists their expected release date as 1/22/14. NA retailers should get him a week or two after that I'd imagine.

Just some thoughts here - Purple is a very difficult color to photograph, maybe if those who have concerns about the color, if having the toy at hand, will change their perception?

 

It's not going to go from the show-accurate blue-grey to that vibrant purple, though.

Depending on the lightning, the opposite might be possible. But there's no way you're going to add that much colour under white lights. And then it'd be reflected by the white looking red/pink or something.

 

We've seen the figure right next to a production Bovis in the same lighting, and the grey is much lighter than Bovis'. Even if the purple photographs oddly, we know almost for certain that the grey is quite pale.

(also, almost no lighting or camera setting intenstifies and reddens colors THAT much----Maniaking's main color is off in both saturation AND hue)

 

Interesting point there. So it is the grey or rather the off-white that is throwing the figure color pallette off?

 

I find it funny that some are complaining about the final colors on Galvatron.......yet, the original G1 toy was a different color & the G1 cartoon Galvy was at least 3 different shades over the course of the '86 movie, season 3, & Headmasters (both US & Japan).

Personally, I'm happy with it & I can paint if I don't like the shade in-hand.

Yeah Im liking hes just bit taller then Cyclonus.

I dislike the lack of wrist swivel too.Who know maybe someone will come up with a fix for that.

 

he is definitely purple and the off white did suprise me a bit but I was still really impressed with the figure. Here is the best picture I could get with no flash...but it is just from my smart phone.

 

It appears that the translucent plastic on his cannon has been replaced with painted plastic on the final release figure (according to recent FB pics). Not thinking I like the painted look nearly as much.
