By fortuitous circumstance I happened to use 5mm diameter ball joints for both hands, so you would hardly need to modify them at all. You'll just need to use the wrist plug from the SS hands and the rest from the e.Sentinel one.

oh wow, i really appreciate the offer but i can't afford that now. it was just a thought but maybe when i finally get everything i need customized in one place i'll definitely take you up on that.  

 

How about making the base-of-the-fingers joint snap into place when it's fully closed, to assist with holding accessories? It seems that the current design could have the fingers swing open without restraint if the accessory wiggles about at all, leading to a loosened grip and dropped items.

Good thinking, and I considered that possiblity (of a 'stepped' hinge that locks in place). The risk is that it might cause the hinge to pop off slightly easier because of the tensions involved. A case in point is that panel on the bottom of Trailcutter's forearm that forms the sidedoors. Its hinge is of similar design and it pops off quite often.

Have you ever thought about doing a shapeways head of an alternate TFP Leo Prime that's more closer to his BWII/Neo styled head?

I don't own TFP Leo Prime but I'm eyeing one that's on the discount shelf for weeks. Hmm.

 

The hands look good! Hey what about new hands and faces for the generation and chms seeker jets. There bots would be perfect if they had real fists similar to these for trailcutter and new faces that look more like the master piece jets.

 

Yeah that guy and I was actually referring to the Arms Micron Leo Prime/Convoy repaint of the TFP Thundertron mold. I figured that the head didn't suit the actual character of Leo Prime/Convoy well. I was thinking perhaps that we could have an alternate head that's more like the traditional Leo convoy head but done with the TFP elements to it.

 

We also need something like a Flintlock Pistol that slots into his coat.

 

@fakebusker83. I know you're currently doing a big project, but when you get a chance, would you consider looking into shotguns (FP Colossus version), for MMC's Bovis and Fortis? Thanks.

 

Here's an idea! A conversion/upgrade kit for springer/sandstorm (or a mix of the two, it'd need to be painted afterall anyway.) to make them into MTMTE Tumbler/Chromedome!


hell, you might even be able to make some improvements to the figure.

I think it'd fit better than the PRID Wheeljack retool, even if it would run close to the same price.

 

I tried to order some of fakebusters fists on shapeways but they cancelled on me, they said that the seeker fists, 14 mm fists and foc sound wave fist were unprintable. This sucks, I was looking forward to this.

 

Hi aeleven, which material did you select to print in? If it's Polished Alumide then yes, there is very high chance it will be rejected, since PA is not good for small models like this one. I never recommend PA for this reason, preferring White Strong Flexible instead.

Classics Seeker jets will be hard to upgrade since their torso, head assemblies are all pinned together. Their forearm cavities and fist sizes are a little too small for articulated fists I'm afraid. What is wrong with their heads? I'd thought those renditions are perfect.

Alas, no third party upgrades, remember? (Unless I happen to own them) And I don't own any of the third party Predacons.
But are you suggesting to give them shotguns based off the FP Colossus weapons?

I'll think about it. Could be fun. Never thought of Chromedome as a voyager though.
However I'm devoting 100% of my time on a personal project now so this might now happen...

 

Yes sir. I do understand the 3rd party deal, though there have been quite a number of interested individual on using bigger weapons for Fortis and Bovis, like those shotguns from the Colossus set. It doesn't have to be exactly like them, but another option would definitely be welcome. Thank you for at least checking my post.

Woah, has this sentiment been going around? I'd hate to have a reputation like that.

But I must confess, I get very focused on work sometimes and it IS very hard to pull away to answer queries or comments. And what's worse is having to think of new, polite ways to say 'no' to requests and put people down nicely.

As it were, I'm really want to concentrate on this leviathan of a project so I'm putting my foot down and stopping all requests, until I got it at least to a promising stage. Daim, there are plenty of skilled weapon modellers around you could seek them out. I'm sure at least one of them have them third party predacons to reference from.

 

well, if rodimus is getting a retool of the springer mold, why not tumbler? it'd even fit him better I think, cybertronian car and all.
