Bruticus, Devastator, Superion or Menasor

    You pretty much took the words out of my mouth!

    Devastator, as a character in his own right, had a much more memorable personality that I can recall than the others. It was interesting that he was built out of construction equipment, but built pretty much for destruction. They made a point of his component members not being able to fully integrate, and he was only able to process basic functions they could agree on. Each of the component members got a little bit of characterization as well, through the series and comics.

    If the poll were worded as "best combiner team," I would have gone with Bruticus. Built out of a team of militaristic tactical fighters, he would have been the best product of team unity in theory, but has always fallen short in characterization. FoC had that awesome sequence when the Combaticons stormed the transport bridge with extreme tactical efficiency, and Onslaught commanded his men like a good leader, but the combined mode was basically just a tall smasher with big guns that had to be tipped over with a lasso. A bit less than the sum of his parts, if you ask me, but with considerable potential.

    Superion, Menasor, or any other SC combiners wouldn't get my vote, because both their component members and gestalt modes seemed to be pretty hollow as characters.

    This is a pretty thought-provoking subject though... what would make for the best gestalt among a team of good core members?

    Superion, what an awesome name.

    Bruticus and Superion are both military teams, and the Aerial Bots were the big guns for most of season 3 whenever the Autobots needed some strong fighters.

    Meanwhile Devastator is trash that gets blown apart in a single shot from optimus prime even when he doesn't have his arm attached to his shoulder.

    It's between Devastor and Bruticus for me Devs has the least size discrepancy/scale issues between members while G1 Bruticus has the worst (luckily that's fixed in FOC). On the flip side Bruticus has my favorite design tough choice

    It was a tie between Menasor and Devestator.I picked Menasor I bought him and Jetfire of a guy I was friends with.
