Agreed; wish Hasui designed Jack, Bee, and Magnus before leaving.

 

I for one like the entire line including the early designs, flaws and all, but it hard to argue that the post MP-9 molds were the best of the line. Here's hoping for the continuation of the recent aesthetics we have all grown to love.

 

Honestly, I'm taking all of this with a grain of salt. The silhouette of Wheeljack looks pretty good thus far. I'm certainly not going into panic mode just yet.

 

Even designers suffer burnout.

I just hope he has improved since his earlier designs or Hasui comes back to design Trailbreaker/Ironhide/Sunstreaker.

 

if he designed mp10 then i have some hope, if not then im majoraly bummed, i am more passionate about the MP line then any other and was relishing in all the awesome autobots and jets since mp10, we have a right to be bummed, is there a petition yet?

I hope he doesnt change the product i have invested in to much. I love this line, i will be majorly bumbed if it starts to go to pot. Most of the pre mp10 molds were not up to the current standard. Will have to wait and see but i cant seem to shake that knott of worry i have.

Based on his track record in my opinion:

MP10: Not sure if he took part in its design?

MP09: I like the look of how it replicates the design in the cartoon, but its related QC issues I heard (to the point that Takara had to release a v2)gave me a bad impression of its designer

MP08: Good mold, to the point that it has been reissued many times even till now

MP07, 6, 3: remodeled by another designer, so no comment. But since MP11 is based on his design, it looks good but the nosecone does not clip in well to the base of his body in robot mode for mine

MP05: not a fan of those legs and the fiddly transformation steps it involves

MP04, MP02, MP01: Like what others said, its good

So, hearing that he is taking over for MP20 onwards, makes me concerned but hopefully I will be proven wrong

Kobayashi didn't design MP-10. He designed MP-1. MP-10 was Hasui's first project as the lead designer. You can read about his design goals and the design process for MP-10 at this link:

Great, so we can go back to figures that don't tab together? I hope he's improved/ learned from the floppies of his Seekers

 

Hasui's output has been amazing, really sad to see him off the line.

Even a figure like MP-08 Grimlock, which was well received and appeared to follow the hyper-G1 cartoon aesthetic is pretty flawed when compared to the rebooted MP designs.

What details are we missing when we have years of this guys work on our shelves? I don't want to go back to those type of figures. I do have a choice and that's my wallet though. After Wheeljack and Bumblebee are done I'll be waiting for reviews on all Takara Mps to see if this is for the worse. No more floppy Mps please

 

So, since wheeljack and bee are coming out in 2014 does that mean that they are not Hasui's designs? Or does the headline mean that any new mps STARTED in 2014 will NOT be desinged by Hasui?
