To be fair now, it's day three and I haven't been able to access either eShop. I'm not ranting, I'm not even in a rush to buy anything, I just wanted to redeem my eShop cards and add them to my balance.

Even though it's working for me now, it is an INJUSTICE that others can't access the eShop, WE PAID FOR THEIR SERVICES, we did the work, and the fact that this error persists means that Nintendo should invest in some more servers.

You haven't paid for any service. You bought/received fake money to use on an online storefront that you aren't paying to access or support. Also, I don't think calling a customer service number counts as 'work'.

Your taking this a bit far, things crash or go down. It happens. Just wait for it to go back up, it really isn't that big of a deal. You haven't payed to gain access to the eShop, you've only paid for the system and possibly money to use in said shop, but the eShop isn't something that you're paying for. Besides, I don't remember this often happening with Nintendo or anyone for that matter.

Like I said, This was a fluke. Nintendo didn't anticipate as much traffic on the eShop as it got. It certainly didn't help that Nintendo released Pokemon Bank, one of the most anticipated 3DS Applications since the release of Pokemon X and Y Versions, in Asia on the same day as a major Gift-Giving Holiday.

Every kid in my family got a 3DS yesterday. I can't imagine how many more across the earth did, too. The service is busy. Chill out and wait your turn. It'll happen.

I feel bad for any kid who couldn't download their games on Christmas Day, but any adults who've honestly come to the internet and complained, even after nintendo released a statement apologising for the issues, then I just feel sorry for you. Christmas toys are great and all, but spending time with your family and loved ones should have been top priority.

I'm actually kinda glad it happened (in a weird way) hopfully nintendo got a very good range of new users this year. Maybe they'll focus on more internet based software and get more servers etc.

EDIT: just read through the whole thread. M Reed is certainly a troll.

This really sucks for me. I waited on a 3DS until there was a game I had to get. The new Zelda was that game. I had surgery last week (and emergency surgery the day after due to complications), and am basically stuck in a recliner at my mom's while I recover. I can't play my ps3 games during the day because my grandmothers are here, and they don't like the language and violence, so I am left to the mental torture of the soaps, talk shows (The Talk) and myriad of Lifetime Channel Christmas movies they watch. I was so looking forward to some Zelda awesomeness to escape to during that time, but I got the Zelds bundle which requires a download which I cannot get.

I had planned to use my downtime while I recovered catching up on lots of gaming, but have not had nearly the time I expected because of being at my mom's instead of at home due to the complications.

Can it and consider yourself lucky you weren't around when the Playstation Network went down FOR A MONTH when hacked a few years ago. A few days of waiting sucks, but it isn't *that bad.

Also, I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but damn, just buy physical copies of your games. Some stuff really is just digital and that's that, but otherwise, you don't have to connect online to use a freaking cartridge or disc (though that's where the industry is headed. But that's a discussion for another time).
