Less talk about the product itself and more arguing about 1st, 2nd, and 3rd parties please...

    Fine... I'll chime in.

Most third-party products shouldn't even be considered as such... unless it's an add-on or accessory to someone else's product. All complete full-figures created by so-called "third parties" are simply a competitive product.

Pffft. This should totally be $20 from Walmart. What a rip off. It doesn't even transform. Why even call it a transformer?

Looks like BBTS has removed the Scorponok from its store. The listing and feature link are both gone.

Nah, you don't want it. Give some other company another year or so, they'll make something better.

first off let me just say it looks amazing, good quality and everything. with that being said how hard would it have been to make this guy transform? $549 bucks and cant transform!!! even if i do want to leave it in robot mode it should be my option. your insulting our intelligence, we are TRANSFORMERS fans! yeah we do spend a lot of money on 3p products but not just for the form, but for the function as well. you claim that it is highy articulate, THEN WHY THE HELL YOU COULD'NT MAKE THE LEGS FOLD BACK AND TAB IN!!! put some legs and wheels on it and BAM! $549 no prob. kick yourself for that one.

I don't see how it's insulting our intelligence. It looks like an amazing piece. If it doesn't transform, it's probably because they wanted it to have certain proportions, or because it would have raised the price even more. I don't think it's just a matter of making the legs fold back. There's still the whole matter of tail, feet, scorpion legs, and of course Zarak and all the accessories people would have wanted. I say if it's not for you, then just pass on it, but it's better to have the option of this for $549 than no options at all.

well said Delta star, the voice of reasoning can calm the savage beast lol. i guess I'm just hating because i really do like it would pay some serious cash for it. but cmon man just one alt mode could not have been that hard or that much of a budget buster. $549 worth of plastic and paint. just kind of hard to swallow. if they would offer some kind of kit to allow an alt mode I'll pay more than the $549 for it. like I said before I like it a lot.

All that said, I do find it hard to believe it doesn't transform. Wouldn't be surprised if it does after all. I mean even if you just lie it down, it's almost transformed :)

So Ultimetal Prime isn't 2 feet, and is $1000.
Sentinel tends to add diecast and they have Giant Gorg coming at half the size for $550

Is this thing going to be vinyl or something?

Maybe one or two. This thing is going to be too expensive to cut up for anyone but the most wealthy customizers.

I think the problem with using term "third party products" on unlicensed goods is that it's just a nice way of saying "bootleg".

This is an actual, licensed third party product. Sentinel already has a track record in releasing various super robots, officially.

That said, it's also probably the reason why this doesn't transform. Have there been any officially licensed Transformers toys by companies other than HasTak that still transform? Not that I can think of. I do kind of wonder who exactly is this aimed at though. The pricetag places it way above your usual TF collector, and as much as I like Scorponok (he's my favourite character and all), even I don't like him THAT much (48'600¥!). As a companion piece to the Encore Fort Max it doesn't really work, since his sculpt and articulation are a completely different level.
