Erm, might want to spoiler tag that, as everyone in this thread has been trying very hard to avoid spoiling others.

After the Primes warred among themselves, Thirteen decided to live among "mortal" Cybertronians to gain some perspective, and remade himself as normal Cybertronian in the Well, and asked Alpha Trion to wipe his name from the Covenant so no one would know that he's one of the Primes. (This is why he's only referred to as Thirteen in the Covenant). Orion Pax then gets birthed out of the Well in the core of the planet as one of the first Cybertronians (among others). Then on Page 129, Paragraph 7, the last 2 lines it says it outright. Optimus Prime was Thirteen's original name.

Makes me love Prime's version of Megatron even more since he can go toe to toe with Optimus Prime and Megatron really is just some schmuck. I just wish more pages and thought had been given to their relationship. Megatron shows up on page 123 all Bamf, and they've become brothers and had their fallout in 6 pages.

I also don't like that the Predacons emerged from the well after the Cybertronians, the book so far cements the idea that Cybertron is a planet unchanging, no evolution or anything going on here, just everyone kind of hanging out together until one group or another dies off or becomes "lost to the ages".

So, then all of Generations, IDW's ongoing comics, and TF4 are all part of Aligned? No, of course it isn't. Hasbro is still supporting and has set themselves up to support the multiverse for ages to come.

The Multiverse works because it allows for all of those to happen and do their own thing. Besides, it's not like Aligned is all that aligned anyway and eventually Hasbro will move away from it and plunk Aligned somewhere in the multiverse.

FWIW, I'm not arguing the point because I like the idea of multiversal singularities, in fact, pretty far from it, I think it's almost as bad as Aligned has been. It's just that if they wanted to go the distance on the whole multiverse angle (which I do like, since it allows for all the continuities over the years to exist parallel to each other and with equal validity in an official capacity rather than just fan division), and they put such an emphasis over the years on the 13 and their 'unique' roles therein, then after waiting years to officially name the 13, the first chance they do so, they also toss out the rules that forced such a heavy emphasis on the 13 to begin with and name one of the 13 one of the few Transformers that they never should have been called such to the group, it's hard not to feel insulted.

So my question to those who have the book (I'll wait for a mass release/price drop); Onyx Prime, the beast one. Is he loosely based on Onyx Primal, with a bat mode & whatnot?

The design doesn't really have any bat elements, his main body looks like a centaur (the drawing in the book has him rearing up like horses sometimes do), he has massive wings, and his head looks like a bird of prey. The best way to describe it would be "Pegasus-Centaur"

Has anyone else tried displaying their copy on the wall only to find that the bottom section won't stay closed and keeps falling down/open?

Trying to decide if worth asking for a replacement from Amazon.

I think somebody mentioned a way to lock it into place by pushing down one of the panels a few pages back. Might be wrong here!

Hm. Couldn't find it here, maybe in one of the several review threads. I came here because it has the most views & replies, but then again the majority are from back in June…

Amazon is sending me a replacement. If it has the same issue I'll have to scour the other threads I guess.

If you don't feel it "lock", then yeah there might just be something wrong with yours.

thanks. i avoided the video review thread because I just assumed "video", didn't think about an actual discussion that might occur afterwards…

yeah, it didn't "lock" like the others do, just kind of closed. the whole pael seemed to sit lower than the other panels too (when lying flat on table). holding it in my hand it would do okay staying closes, but soon as it went on the wall it just wouldn't stay in at all. hopefully the replacement will lock in place, seeing as how it might be a random QC issue…

The only way I will accept it is if it turns out the Guiding Hand was Primus covering up his first F**k up with the 13 Primes, OR the GH was created by Alpha Trion and Alchemist Prime to guide the Cybertronians in the right path.

For those that finished reading the whole book:

Does Metroplex & the ancient Titans get acknowledged at any point?

I've finished the chapter on the Fate of the Predacons & i am quickly losing interest. Hope of some Titan info will make me pick this book up again faster.

I admit to skipping around quite a bit, forward and back, but based on that and the pictures you have quite a ways to go… but it's possible they are mentioned BEFORE The Great War.
