I hate that toy, it sucks major, it doesn't stand properly and looks awful, I can't believe anyone would pay more than $20 for that.. rare or not..

 

I think they were probably slated to be color revisions. Like the bleached white TM2 Dinobot, and black TM2 Prowl.

 

Thats what I thought, still a rare find and would be a nice piece to a collection.

 

I have one. Bought it back in '02. Missed out on a Green Ramulus at the same show.

 

Was gong to say, I had heard of Green Ramulas but not blue Minor, so it is probably rarer.

Were those variants harder to find or were they made in similar numbers to the original?

 

Well I've done some research while trying to find ramulas. They were slated as a simple repaint but only made it to the employee store at kenner. Very low number but I am sure many more are not uncovered yet. I picked up the blue minor from a dealer who got left over stock straight from kenner locally in cincinnati.

 

Who knows how similar the numbers were, but I don't think they were 'scarce' at all.

In fact it was awhile after BW ended that an old supply of the deluxe TM2 wave with the variant white Dinobot & black Prowl showed up at Wal-mart for $3 a piece.

I bought an extra Jawbreaker, the hyena, the Wal-mart receipt has him listed as a kangaroo.  

 

Interesting. Is this in the 100s range for production or lower?

 

Not for sure but I would say higher. Like I stated they were scheduled for a full production run. I think it would not be out of the question for the run to be 500 or higher. I do know since I got minor ramulas has been no where in sight...... Figures.

 

I'm baffled how anyone would pay more than 10 dollars for Optimus Minor. That figure is all kinds of terrible.


I don't believe the blue version was rare when it first came out, and I seem to recall having seen both versions in stores. I might be mistaken though.

 

Although I cannot be 100% sure I doubt you saw this in stores......

 

I like Minor but egads is that horrible looking.

 

Im thinking if it had been near a 500 run, we would have seen way more on the secondary market. Though I could be wrong, it may be that people dont know what they have too. Ive seen about 5 green rams, around 4 blue minors in about 8 years of having known they existed.
