Now I'm really confused. The sooner we hear more Dinobot news the better.

But I have a feeling Slash is Snarl. I mean come on, a Stegosaurus with plates on it's back like blades for slashing and why would you call a Apatosaurus Slash when it shows no signs of anything for slashing?

 

Mandarin only is kind of an interesting concept, but you kind of have to wonder if the robots have access to just about all the human knowledge that is shared across computers then couldn't they speak all of the human languages instead of being limited to only Cybertronian and one Earth language?

Really hope I only speak Mandarin isn't a comedy relief sort of character. With all the mess the films have dealt with when it comes to race and comedy I'm not sure if something that could come off as racist is the best way to go. But with Paramount wanting an even large share of the Chinese market I can see why they would have a film bend over backwards to kiss up to that market.

 

Yeah, I can't see it being comedy relief if they're trying to appeal to the Chinese market.

 

Nope, Slash and Snarl are different TFs. In this movie, IF Slash is in the movie and not just a toy, he could be anything. Could be another T-Rex, could be a Raptor like the real Dinobot Slash was, could be anything really.

 

As I said, the sooner the better. And as it said in the Jousters, Hound rides Slash. If Slash is a Raptor would it be hard for a large Robot like Hound to ride a small raptor like Slash?

 

Knowing Bay, it will probably will be the comedy relief bot (foreigner + funny accent = comedy gold!).  

Yeah, it is a change of pace. Mandarin is the most widely spoken language in the world, after all.

The Chinese TF knock off comments.... they were funny the first thousand times we've seen them.

The thinly veiled jingoism and American/Western exceptionalism aside, I'm hoping the Bot/Con parts will be the saving grace for what is potentially face-palm worthy human parts in this movie.

 

Yeah your right. I did forget about Hound and Slash together lol. So yeah, Slash could be any type is Dinobot tho. But Slash and Snarl are indeed different characters tho.

 

Yeah I agree, but while OP and maybe Bee might ride a D-Bot in the movie, we really don't know if every D-Bot will be ridden. The Autobot and Dinobot mount gimmic may just be that in the toy line and its just expanded on in the toy line where each Autobot has a mount.

 

thats what I see happening as a nod to the G1 guys. And now that you mention it, The Autobots may have been exiled from Earth by NATO, but they have not been exiled by nations like China. And seeing as how it seems that the Chinese in some form may be building or found a way to create their own TFs, what not to say that the Chinese government along with Hong Kong don't offer them a new place to live? A new Autobot City, so to speak. But seeing as OP is still being hunted for some reason, he's the only one to leave. And in turn leaves another to lead the Autobots from their new home in China/Hong Kong to protect the Earth till his eventual heroic return in the middle of movie 5 lol

 

I wouldn't quite call these summarizations "Spoilers". More like a handle full of plot threads that were VERY vague at best.

Most of this sounds interesting, especially the secret Chinese factory.

What do you bet the daughter sustains some sort of injury, and they use the Chinese technology to transfer her "personality component" to a bot? Much like the Spike Frankenstein episode. Intro A1 or Arcee, but I think Arcee was actually in previous movies.

thats true but with any type of info these day, news is better than no news. And with a movie like this that is based on a franchise with one of the world's largest followings, all it takes is just the littlest bit of any type of news to get people excited.

 

If this means what I think it does, I can already just hear the hacky murder prime jokes about this.

 

I read a few months back that people are going to be disappointed when we find out who the Autobot cars will be. Why is that?? Is it because of how they look? Or who they are?

 

With any movie like this, there will always be those that will be disappointed no matter what.

 

Likely simply because everyone hypes them up to be the characters we wanted from our past - we see a battleship we expect it to transform and be Tidalwave or Broadside.

People will be disappointed because they likely wont be the characters we expected them to be.
