The chest WAS pegged down, but connecting the roof to the back pegs caused the chest to pop back up. When I loosened the roof from Prowl/Bluestreak's back, I could put the chest back onto the torso peg.

I know I'm still doing something wrong, since the roof should fit onto the back pegs AND the chest fits onto the torso peg.

The roof tabs seriously shouldn't be able to exert enough force to cause the chest to pop out. That sucker's tight. The roof will probably shatter before the chest tab gives way, if what you're saying is true.

Is the support strut for the roof fully horizontal? If so, then if the chest is pegged down solidly, the roof tabs should line up perfectly.

Thanks for the advice, mx-01! My Prowl and Bluestreak are just fine now! Getting that chest flap aligned was nuts...I needed something small and thin to keep it at the right angle.

My Prowl was the same way, i had to take a x-acto blade to the backpack hinge and shave down a bit to allow the roof to go up higher and tab in.

Are you sure it was pegged in the correct peghole?

I also had the problem with the roof contantly popping off and then I discovered that I hadn't pegged the chest in properly. It was pegged in, just not in the correct peghole. Once I put the peg into the 'correct' peghole there were no issues anymore.

Yup, that was my problem, the stomach was in the flat position, lol. I only had so shave the spine slightly for the back to tab in when flat. I didnt even notice it when i got my streak, i pegged it in the correct position and everything fit correctly. I didn't even realize my mistake until i read your guy's posts. Doah!

Heh... I made that same mistake at first. I was afraid that I might break it! I finally figured it out after a few minutes of putzing around and then thought to check this thread. D'oh!

    All's well that ends well!

I'm glad I found this thread. Saved me a lot of headaches. I thought I was the only one having the backpack issue.

I know a couple people talked about this a few pages ago, but the way the instructions show the mirror pieces folding seems to be impossible. I wonder if the toy was changed, and no one ever fixed the instructions? It was pretty frustrating for me until I saw a couple Youtube videos and noticed that people were leaving the folded pieces outside the raised area, instead of trying to tab them in.

^Don't know if it's correct, but I couldn't get them to tab in completely., but I did get their tips (JUSTt he tips) to fit in and this allowed me to trasnform to bot mode.

Getting that long panel on the hood to hinge felt like a nightmare...too much paint and it plugged up the hinge. Similar thing happened with the inside of his chin. i couldnt move his head up at first. turned out it was too much silver paint on his chin and it made some paint stick to the neck.

Hard to believe we're only about a month away from 2014.

This year was full of some absolutely fantastic toys....I don't collect everything, but the lines I do collect had some amazing offerings...Boba Fett from Star Wars Black, "Ultimate" Storm Shadow and Cobra Commander from GI Joe.

And then there were the Masterpieces. Soundwave and his tapes are so good it's hard to describe them, and SW is my all time favorite Transformer.

Yet, I still wouldn't put SW at Toy of the Year......it's gotta be Prowl.

Yes, I love Soundwave, but he's simply not as satisfying on a pure "toy" level like Prowl is...Prowl looks damn near perfect in both modes and it's fun flipping him back and forth. I am still impressed every time I see it on the shelf and even more impressed when I transform or pose him.

Anyone else agree with me that this is Toy of the Year?

I have a really hard time calling one MP TF better than another. I think they're all about as perfect as I could hope for and they're all amazing in their own way. Really, I still feel like I have to pinch myself when I think about this line or look at my MP collection. I've said it many times and so have many others, but this is a 30 year old dream come true.

Remember before Prowl's release and all we getting were preview shots? Remember how some pointed out that the doors looked too low on his back? Now of course we realize it's all due to how you position his shoulders. Funny how little things like that can make a big difference. Same with some owners users his lower shoulder joint as an elbow instead of... the elbow.

I think I might be done with TFsource after this. I got a Prowl with a messed up front bumper and an air bubble on his forehead. I asked if I could exchange it but they were only willing to send me a new bumper to replace the old one but not do any thing about the forehead because it was a minor issue. I don't know if I should ask anyone in the radicons to try to fix it up for me or wait a year to see if Takara reissue Prowl like they did Sideswipe. Same thing happened with MP-10B, His eyes were all scratched up and they told me it was a minor issue. So yeah, after I get my MP-11 from them I'll probably be done with them.

    Takara never reissued Sideswipe.

And I know I'm in the minority, but I think paint bubbles ARE a minor issue. Despite the title "Masterpiece" these are still just toys mass-produced by workers in a Chinese factory churning out as many of these as they can. They are not intended to hang in museums.

    Nothing is perfect.
