Thanks for the tips. I'm going to go with the plan to drill some holes and glue plastic dowels in the upper arm. I'm not an experienced kitbasher by any means (thus my use of a paper clip for the arm sling), and that seems like an easy-enough method.

Also, I can't get the piece out cleanly because it's very solidly glued in there. I'd have to saw it out. Plus, I warped the nub when I twisted the arm off. Reattaching the nub to the lower arm won't work. Had it been a clean break, though, I'd definitely do this your way.

Currently scouring my apartment for any junker figures where I can cut off a dowel. Problem: I don't have any junker figures...

I got a ko red alert today. He had many of the issues commonly mentioned in this thread. Fixed his head and his waist.

He also had several stuck joints which all came loose eventually except one. His right shoulder hinge wouldn't budge. After trying all the usual stuck joint remedies, I ended up prying his shoulder apart which was pretty tricky. Once I had it open I was able to see that it was glued. The wheel on his shoulder is glued on and that glue seeped into the joint. I assume this is exactly the same thing that caused yours to break.

I was able to free mine up and reassemble it. I reccomend you try to open the shoulder before you hack at it and you may be able to minimize the damage.

Edit: I went back through the thread, and I see many of you already went through the shoulder issue, some better than others. I'm really glad I didn't snap mine. All the issues on mine are now fixed and he's great! Very comparable to the real thing (I have sideswipe) and for the price...geeze.. I think I'll get Tigertrack ko as well

I ended up getting a refund from jesse_mark_aimjx because Red Alert never showed. Not sure I want to go the KO route anymore and just wait for a rerelease from Takara or a Hasbro U.S. release. Red Alert was never one of my favorite characters.

Finally got this guy and he's impressive! For a while I thought I got the real deal by mistake, until I checked for the usual problems: inconsistencies on the box, head doesn't close, glued right shoulder (thankfully I was able to free it up). I'm really satisfied with him!

I also got one recently for my son. The quality for the price is great. My head also doesn't close all the way but overall the paint apps and tight transformation (especially the panels) are better than my authentic Sideswipe.

So I got my red alert in today. The head swivel was real loose. I was fiddling with it and it popped off. I tried to put it back on but it won't stick on to the metal pin. Any ideas?

Bought an alert from skylight-zhy on ebay on 18th September.

    Haven't received it.

    Guess it's not coming.

Ebay deadline has passed. Might try a credit card chargeback.

    Do I have any hope?

That was the one thing on mine I didn't like. I have the pink lights too. Wish they were dark red like the paint job. Anyways can you enlighten me when you say paint clear red? How do you do that?

I would totally hit up paypal, but I'm outside of the time scale for them.

And I usually would be able to get a a chargeback from my credit card company as my paypal account is connected to my card but for the only time ever due to a refund from another item I had credit in my paypal account so my card wasn't actually charged for this item.

    Pile of balls.

I also never received a pair of hoists from china. Credit card company covered this. I've never not received an item before in a decade of collecting online and now twice in a month from china.

I've read through this thread and I've seen people have some shoulder troubles but not like this.

And the shoulder doesn't lift out at all, as you can see in the one picture.

I removed a screw but I can't pull the shoulder apart. I think the that pine is holding the shoulder together as well.

People say it's glue or paint but any advice on getting that out? Or how to take it apart?

Did you try post 232 of this very thread?

I'm not trying to sound like a jerk but I'm fairly certain this issue has been addressed and resolved.
