I wasn't able to watch the announcement vid (I was at work) but a friend who saw it caught that bit of info? Did anyone else pick this up?

To be fair, Star Saber doesn't need very much to be ready for a combination with Victory Leo. Just ports on the back and feet, plus hands that could hold VL's gun. It's not a complex combination.

 

The only thing I know about G1 Star Saber is he's a Autobot leader and can combine with someone called Victory Leo to form Victory Saber, but that won't stop me from buying MP Star Saber.

If any wants to know, I want to get him cause he looks cool.

 

I've just re-read the messages I was sent from the friend watching it, and that's essentially what they're doing - a future VL would be able to combine with SS if they ever decide to make one (I imagine it hinges on how well this sells).

 

Basically, yeah. Leo will sell a bit poorer than (or at the most, equal to) Star Saber most likely, so they need to make sure SS sells enough first.

I assume the same situation will be true for a MP Godbomber if a MP Super Ginrai is made.


EDIT: Although, the release of a MP Victory Leo may encourage some folks to buy Star Saber in the first place. It's hard to measure, I'll leave it up to the actual economists/marketers at Takara, lol.

 

If SS follows the quality of the recent MPs, he'll be brought and I'm crossing fingers for Victory Leo to follow.  

 

One last question, then I'm out. Would you guys have been as excited if it had been say Pyro?

Yes I would, there was a local shop with stacks of him and clench etc back in the day but my folks hated American toys so I never got them no matter how politely I asked.

Pyro is one of those toys that I always wanted but could never have so I have nostalgia for him of a sort, namely the memories of the countless times I looked at him in the shop.

 

I only ever saw him in the Generations book and I was all WHO RESPONSIBLE THIS

 

Honestly, no. I like his character, and he'd make a decent MP, but I wouldn't be as excited.

Would probably still get though; I do like him but it wouldn't enthuse me as much as Star Saber does.

 

okay one last last question. If you only sort of like him, why pay upwards of $150 for him?
