My son would have shat himself if they'd made the Armada Star Saber. Not to mention Armada Optimus Prime.

I will say I have no interest in Star Saber, but I'm happy for those who were pulling for him. Everyone of the options deserve a masterpiece figure. It's unfortunate that some are upset about their selection not getting picked or that masterpiece is branching from classic G1.

I hope that people will realize that a masterpiece figure, can only be a good thing for the Transformers franchise, especially when it's a break from the usual, cause it really does turn masterpiece into an anything is possible situation.

I look forward to seeing how the figure turns out even though he won't be on my shelf.

I don't give a shit about nostalgia as justification for this awesome news. I have plenty of nostalgia for all the season 1 and 2 MPs that have been marching out, either by Takara or 3rd party (Fans Toys, Igear). I bought the star saber and victory leo giftset in 2009 and by God's grace, it is the most fun and awesome G1 Transformer set I own. Some transfomers combine into a larger robot. Some have multiple alt modes. Some turn into bases or cities (my favorite kind of transformer).

Star Saber has a brainmaster (similar to headmaster, the Brain of Courage). It has a base mode (the V-star), which ALL toys of Autobot leaders since Optimus Prime have enjoyed (rodimus' battle station a bit of a stretch, but still). It has an awesome cybertronian fighter-jet alt-mode (Saber) that turns into a robot that the brainmaster partners with (similar to Spike and Cerebros). Saber and the V-star combine into a Cybertronian starcruiser. Not to mention the Saber blade.

and then you throw in Victory Leo...which Takara HAS to be considering at the VERY least. Victory Leo, itself having a hugely kick ass cybertronian winged lion alt-mode, combines with the Star Saber robot to form the 2nd tallest G1 transformer of all time, beat out only by Fortress Maximus. And the Star Saber starcruiser and victory leo combine to form a fucking massive Autobot battleship. It's HUGE.

That's not even going into mentioning the character at all. He's an Autobot leader from the line of Optimus, Rodimus, etc. and wields the Saber Blade. I mean shit, that's gangster in and of itself.

I can't wait for this to come out. I don't even care if it's over $350 by the time it's all said and done.

Okay see? That was easy. Almost a complete answer to the question without any snark. Instead of "you're dumb for not liking it, you're mentally challenged, you are so mad its funny".

    Can't believe Armada is #2.

I read through the first couple pages of this thread and saw a bunch of comments elsewhere about Armada being people's childhood series or favorite series.

People are nostalgic for Armada the way me and many older fans are for G1. I knew it would happen, but it feels so strange. I remember the outrage when Armada was on. It was the "end of the franchise" :D

Armada was pretty awful to begin with but the prime design was cool. A new version without the madly ambitious auto transforming trailer would be very welcome.

Indeed; hell, in another 10 years there'll be people nostalgic for the movies, Prime, and Animated due to those being their first experiences.

I'm nostalgic for both good and bad quality media from when I was a kid - they're called "rose-tinted lenses" for a reason.

And whether or not you like the series (I'll admit to having only seen the last chunk of Armada) it's a really good Optimus Prime design, and given I've heard the supermode toy wasn't all that great it could stand to be remade.

Anyone know why the video is private? Or for that matter, is it streaming somewhere else for viewing?

I'm just damn curious what the scale on Star Saber will wind up being... and also if they intend to add Victory Leo to the mix. Is it too far-fetched to hope his rival Deathsaurus gets made sometime after?

As for Armada being #2... the art design in the show was pretty good... but the toyline was soooo bad. Step backwards from some of the more promising G2 and RiD designs. (Really, most were bricks.) I can only assume that kids growing up to that, and those wanting a design that tangentially resembled that of Armada Prime in-show would be the ones to upvote him that much. Admittedly, the idea of Armada Prime with his Trailer, Overload, and Jetfire was awesome... the toy attempt... Brick Wall.

That said... I'd not be surprised if a 3rd Party decides to make some of the runner ups.

im sure theres plenty that will argue the point, but to some G1 is up to Zone.

So yeah, to me, Star Sabre is G1. Anything from that era is G1 to me. G1 didnt end with Rebirth for me.

Please dont reply to what ive said because i dont care enough to respond to anybody that disagrees.
