Ok so we all know that There is a new upcoming Transformers cartoon coming up. This is what we know so far.

1. It will be a 2-D show
2.It will be more aimed at kids
3.The animation will be the same as transformers prime but "simpler"
4. It will likely take place in the same universe as Transformers Prime
5. Peter cullen and Frank Welker will be reprising there roles.

So what are your guys thoughts?
Is this good news are bad news?
what are you most excited for?
what are you least excited for ?

I personally am dissapointed at the shows aim at a younger audience. I felt if anything they could have taken the Darkness of Transformers Prime and taken it up a notch. Although I am glad that it will most likely take place in the same universe. I felt TF prime didnt introduce enough characters and now i feel this new series will be able to introduce the Constructicons,Stunticons,Dinobots etc. Hopefully it doesnt take to many cues from the new movie and tends to still stick to its g1 roots similar to Transformers Animated.

So im excited to hear your guys opinions on the new series.

Well we don't know much about it aside from what we know from the creators themselves. As for the tone difference we did have shows like Animated while being more light hearted can go into deep and mature topics when needed. I'm hoping the next show will be at least that.

 

I don't want to see Optimus and Megatron again. I'd like to see Star Saber leading the new Cybertronians and maybe a new threat, like other robotic races in the universe. Something similar to the Cybertron series, maybe. I also would like to see Megatron appear in an episode or two and aid the Cybertronians with this new threat.

I hope it WILL: Be better than TFP

I hope it WON'T: be Go dubbed and repurposed into a new series.

 

There isn't enough confirmed yet for me to have any first impressions, really. I think if the tone is more along the lines of Animated or G1 than I can't see the show being less dark/more youth-aimed as a problem.

What I do hope for, though:

* A continuation of some kind of the events of PRIME --- something that can bring back some of the loose ends as plot points (Queen Airachnid and her Insectivampire Army, Soundwave still trapped in the Shadowzone, etc.). When the series starts it should be briefly recapped/noted that Optimus Prime has apparently died some time before sacrificing himself to revive Cybertron, the Decepticons are apparently gone and Megatron is still out there somewhere.
* Some way of putting a new or at least different twist on the old Optimus/Megatron formula, since I honestly don't expect either one of them to actually be sat out of the series. Maybe focus on some new character, Autobot or human, who somehow can channel Optimus' spark in times of extreme duress (sort of a Ginrai-Meets-Ultraman kind of thing); as for Megatron, have him suspected of going back to his old tricks of wreaking destruction and havoc on Earth actually caused by another main villain, forcing him to regroup the Decepticons to help find the true culprit while fighting off the Autobots hunting him.
* No more Cute-Gimmick-Speak crap with Bumblebee (since the prospect of him not being in it would also be unrealistic from Hasbro's perspective, I imagine). He's got his voice back now; keep it that way. For that matter, keep Will Friedle in the role, too. And the black stealth paint job, while you're at it, folks.
* As it's likely we'd be back on Earth for the next series, more emphasis on the covert agency/Unit: E angle of things. I would not be averse to more references to G.I. JOE and/or MASK, either.

 

Hope that it's an actual continuation of Prime and not a prime rewrite.

 

I'm pretty sure it was found out that this description was for the Rescue Bots sequel, not Prime (but it was never front-paged).

So, how can can Peter Cullen reprise his role if Optimus Prime killed himself in Predacons Rising? Is the new show going to ignore Predacons Rising?

 

I hope it's a continuation that doesn't heavily rely on Prime itself. Something like it wouldn't make a difference if you saw Prime or not, but if you did, you'll notice a few things. Like WfC and FoC. And I certainly hope they "fix" some of the characters. Like the way they left off with Megatron and Starscream in Predacons Rising was awful. To top it off, I never want to see those Predacons ever again. Predaking was better when he was just a speechless dragon. Finally, I don't want to be trapped in "Prime" for too long. I hope this is the last installment. As tying up loose ends is good, I do like a clean, fresh start.

 

I mean the "more aimed at kids" part. When it was first confirmed, it was said it would be similar to Rescue Bots, and then something was found saying that they were sort of talking about the sequel to Rescue Bots.

I don't really mind if it's more childish as long as it isn't more-so than Animated.

 

Wrong - Nobody knows whether its a 2D or a 3D Show yet as neither have been confirmed - But from my best bets - Im hoping its another 3D Based show like Prime, because the Animation In TFA was Horrific and Terrible

 

I expect nothing special. Hopefully it will have more of the quality episodes and not that it will have only great episodes as season premieres and finals. We could like get some dimension hopping device from UNIT and rob some universe of their James Roberts (how evil) and then have one James Roberts write MTMTE and one write the Transformers cartoon. Now THAT would be cool (not for the other universe).

 

I have a really optimistic view of the next series, especially considering how Prime ended. It will probably be a major improvement because the direction can go anywhere.

 

Look at the notes on general board. It lists what's Been confirmed and it says it will be reverting back to its 2-D roots

 

2D almost guarentees a larger cast. That's good.

 

I'm hoping it will be like The legend of Korra. If you've ever seen it, you know you don't need to study the last airbender to know what's going on. But if you saw the last airbender there are a lot of cool references and appearances of characters. As far as the 2D animation goes, I really didn't like the way TFA characters looked. A TFP 2D look would be better for me.

As for "aimed at kids", that might just mean "Autobots don't murder-hack their way through Vehicons every episode". Which I certainly hope falls by the wayside because it was boring and made a total joke of the grunts.

 

I'm hoping the show is a continuation of the story begun in Prime, and that they retain the 3D animation. I'm also hoping thatn if Cullen and Welker are reprising their roles, its done in a clever way. Like maybe have Optimus act as a spiritual advisor in a similar vein to Alpha Trion's role.

I'm also hoping the next series possesses a human factor as well, especially if it takes place on Cybertron. We often get to see the Cybertronians as fish out of water on Earth, it might be fun to see the reaction of humans colonizing Cybertron as the two species move forward together.
