I always wanted this: [/IMG] Instead we got Generations Kup. Well, he's ok, I suppose. Still. I wanted more. So I saw a few people had this idea and I wanted to try making my own. I had to mix my own custom paint and since I couldn't get it to match the teal of the eHobby Kup head I had, I had to paint that too. In any case, here are the results. Too excited to wait for him to cure, so no alt mode shots, but let me know the last time you saw him in alt mode in the books. Anyway, he looks about as you'd expect. When he's ready and I've had time to detail that mode, they'll follow in this space. I see a little red showing through. Specifically in the chest area. So if anyone knows a low impact way to get that clear part out for touchups, please let me know. I'm debating whether or not to seal him, but all I have for that is Future and I don't want him too shiny, you know? Doesn't become him. Comments and advice welcome. Thanks for looking!
looks great. if you want a nice top coat without the shine get some Vallejo satin clear coat. make sure your paint is thoroughly cured then just brush it on. no streaks and dries fast. hobby lobby caries it.
Thanks. I've been looking for something that works as you describe. So many things to choose from it's nice to get a recommendation. You're right! I had actually forgotten that it was the Pax design they used on that one. Too bad, because it really shows how blatantly this mold is not Kup when they're next to each other!
While I'm happy with the Generations Kup (and iGear head upgrade)... I will admit that this is a very nice idea. Great alternative that is also closer to the IDW design. Good stuff.
A perfect fit for Kup. I like the look of Generations Kup (well except the head but I got iGears heads too) but this is such a natural fit and that mold is so great and less flawed than the official Generations Kup mold. Anyway, I love it! Can it transform with that head?
just figured out how to remove the windshield. there is a tiny tab in the very front. just pop your thumbnail under there then run it all the way around. mine came Right out easily after that. It just slides forward to remove.
Thanks everyone who responded. It's not an idea that I came up with, but I feel like I did it justice. Someone else will definitely do it better than me soon. Yes. You have to take a scalpel or hobby knife and shave out some space on the Orion neck piece, but mostly to make room for the forehead crest. Easy mod. Just means the head doesn't lock in, but it's not floppy at all. Nice! The top or bottom of the front? I have short thumbnails!
The bottom. lift up then around the side at the back edge push your nail or a very thin blade in and it pops right out
