...and I won't be getting these. Even if I was 5-8, I wouldn't. These things would've looked far too babyish. I would've rather just stuck with the Bionicles.

For me, its not the simplification. Its the general look of these, and lack of articulation. Having said that, i'd buy that Twinstrike. But the rest just look so much like knock offs its unbelievable. Hasbro should really have looked to Armada if they wanted more simplified transformations for younger fans. Scavenger was awesome and anyone who says otherwise is wrong ;)

But these...things. They are just cheap and nasty cash grabs.

I'm a completionist when it comes to the Prime deluxes, but I'll probably pass on the 2 vehicles they look horrid.

Might buy Twinstrike and Windrazor and use Construct Bot Limbs for all their Missing Balljoints.

While these look absolutely terrible, the blow isn't too bad considering that these are basically an extremely simplified "reboot" of the Beast Hunters line, which up to now has had some pretty awesome figures.
I understand that kids find some transformations complex at times, but a more simple subline (think FABs) would've sufficed.

And regarding Hasbro giving this treatment to the AOE line, I doubt it will be this severe, Hasbro would be taking a huge gamble by doing so.

Uh no. This is what happens when they decide to have a line focused at kids, and a line focused at collectors. If they only had one line, we wouldn't have Generations. People need to deal with the fact that kids are a more important target demographic than we are. Otherwise, you're just going to get pissed at every little thing.

These figures look mistransformed in some places, which actually makes quite a difference for one or two of them, even if I don't like any of them.

Windrazor - does this toy have ANY paint apps besides the eyes, Pred logo tampo, and beast mode horn thing? And permamently bent elbows with hands that are blatantly visible at all times...Voyager Blitzwing gets that right with hand covers that flip up from the inside of the wrist, and with this figure it would have been easy to do the same with little claws that not only improved the alt mode but also could be used as melee weapons, even with the hinderance of those bent elbows forever preventing a standard stock straight up pose. And then the FOC Grimlock style chest gap...y'know, if you left the bird mode head deployed in robot mode and did some slight modding (namely paint and slight sculpted details) it could probably be a decent MOTC or Thundercats bad guy figure.

Twinstrike - Oh my god this figure actually could have been decent looking if they'd given those arms an elbow joint, working jaw hands, and. Then they could have retooled it so it had wings and thus given us a relatively accurate looking stand-in for G1 Doublecross. The feet are also flipped the wrong way in robot mode, they seem to turn 180 degrees so the beast feet are heel support to more proper robot feet.

Smokescreen - This is a true FAB figure. I know ROTF Skids, on his FAB, has an extremely similar transformation and only lacks the added hood hinge that Smokey has. The pic also doesn't have the arms tabbed in, like T30 Trailbreaker/Hoist, so the shoulders look decent, but no knee or elbow joints just kills it.

Bumblebee - I know several FAB figures that are EASILY better than this thing, which I think says more than enough about how bad this figure looks.

Overall, I GET that these are supposed to be super-easy for the sake of kids getting into the franshise, but for DELUXE class figures there really should be more articulation put into the robot mode when Generations Deluxes are on the pegs right next to them and look vastly better in value and playability for the same general price.

I barely pay any attention to the retail stuff anymore since I don't collect it, but looking at pictures of these...

Even as a kid aesthetics held some importance for me, so I would've passed these right up. I wouldn't have even looked twice.

Good luck to Hasbro with these. *shrugs*

As a kid, I owned some small Transformers. I didn't buy them because they lacked detail and articulation but in spite of those flaws

I think the biggest problem is that Hasbro is barely releasing ANYTHING for older collectors. Comparing the Generations line to, oh I dunno... EVERYTHING ELSE, and it kinda shows. Plus We're already having to deal with cutbacks to that line too.

    Are you kidding?

    -Metroplex
-MP Soundwave and MP Acid Storm
    -Almost all Generations figures

IMO, the above are primarily geared towards collectors...

No I'm not kidding. Now compare that to

    Movie line
    Cyberverse
    Beast Hunters
    Kre-O
    Construct Bots
    Bot Shots

(And you DO realize that Metroplex is just basically a Cyberverse playset, right? I realize you like it, but how does that change things?) So looking at that again, we're basically getting the occasional MP figure and a 4 figure at a time wave. And with those 4 figures, we have to deal with things like hollow plastic. To save money, y' understand. You get what I'm saying now?

I would definitely get the Predacons if the other three were being made. Even if the couldn't combine. Smokescreen is kind of tempting, and actually looks better than his normal Deluxe, but Bumblebee is an easy pass (weird color choices on him...). I have no issue with these being upscaled Legions. They for the most part look cool to me.
