Grimlocks dino mode looks really nice so far. The riding thing will only really bug me if they turn grimlock into some kind of beast that is just a mount. If it's like a fuck it let's go fuck shit up moment, I'll be ok with it.

 

not arguing with you but isn't one of the biggest, longest debates on the movie characters is that (this is not G1 so these characters should not be expected to be "in character" with past G1 Characters?). I mean even OP, he still has a close resemblance to his G1 character but the movie OP is a much darker character than his G1 counterpart. So my question is why should Grimlock be anything like his G1 counterpart? The only thing that will probably link him to his true G1 counterpart would be the original voice actor  

 

But when the same situation happens to the original G1 Grimlock, that argument kind of goes down the drain. Sorry. This is now the second time someone rides Grimlock. In The 86 movie it was actually meant as comedy. In AOE it will be much more serious which makes him stay in character even more.

 

No. Ivan was a cover name for Grimlock. It's just that the toy list is a compiled list of both older cover names and some more finalized names. The older names were never removed.

 

Grimlock and OP both look great but OP NEEDS MORE WORK IN TERMS OF COLOR.

 

Oh my god, Grimlock's huge! That Prime toy really got me bummed out with the upcoming line, but now I have to see Grimlock's!

 

Frankly it looks ridiculous to me. I don't have any problems with Prime's design, and my only issue with Grimlock is I'm not really fond of that blue-black - I'd prefer dark grey. But Optimus riding Grimlock is a bit much.

The only way I'll accept this is if Dinobot himself is in the movie (with a different name sadly), and is ridden by a human who's name is either Questar, or a name that means Questar.

Or if Swoop is in and is totally badass.

I was skeptical about the idea of OP riding Grimlock, but honestly, this is pretty cool.

 

Looks cool. I can't be bothered to wade through all the pages of comments, but I'm sure some people will be a bit irked by the skeletal look. I quite like it though, I'm guessing that'll be explained implicitly in the movie. I like how it kind of combines elements of BW Transmetals, from what we can see, rather than just being a straight up take on a robotic dino.

no, you've missed the point. the point is that his portrayal in the animated movie by definition cannot be out of character, that's a canon as canon can get. Grimlock's animated characterisation is that he is ridden by wheelie, end of.
