I was challenged to make a toon accurate Bumblebee, and being that I love to be challenged, I took this project on. ^^Here's the pile of parts I was sent. ^^A proportionate Bumblebee is impossible using the proper car model so I went chibbi with this thing for the sake of accuracy. ^^The rear fenders haven'd been shortened yet but this is the length I'm dealing with. There's alotta robot to fit in a little car to make his body proportionate. ^^With everything stuffed inside, he'll still have a proper ride height. ^^Here's the money shot. I needed the limbs and arms to be huge to offset the bulk of the car mode which is what leads to "fat" Bumblebee syndrom. I even managed to get a toon accurate crotch out of the hood which helps make room for the feet to transform. This custom will not scale with anything due to it's size. Consider it more of a test run on how to make an actuall BB figure work.
love all your stuff. total fan am i. can't wait to see where you take this. it looks awesome already.
Interesting, it certainly won't scale next to normal masterpieces, judging by the arms this should be about the masterpiece starscream size?
You know i'll be watching this with great interest . Great work so far dude . Bumblebee has to be one of the hardest Autobots to get right in both modes If not THE hardest . The TV show had it easy with mass shifting and all . "A proportionate Bumblebee is impossible using the proper car model so I went chibbi with this thing for the sake of accuracy." It makes sense to me , if you are making a proper Bumblebee that you go chibbi with the car mode ...being that is how his car mode was in the cartoon . I can't wait to see more this guy is gonna be SOOOOO kick ass !
already commented on S70 but im gonna comment it again here......outstanding plan with chibbi style BB....im watching
Hmm i don't know. Have you ever made a custom before? This looks like your first project and if so you are off to a good start.
looks good so far, don;t forget to leave room for his colossal head! you could probably afford to shorten those shins a little bit to save room.
