Striker has plenty of room for the legs to go back, but NOT forward. Ankles look to be on a ball joint, but no room for movement. This is the extent of the forward movement limit.
At least we can always pose him perfectly for renditions of "Pacific Rim on Ice". Can it move forward at all?
NECA, for what it's worth, said they will produce enough units so everyone will get them. But it's unlikely we'll know how many until it's actually released, so don't expect to see preorders go back up.
Wait, these things are out in stores? TRU primarily, right? I checked my TRU thoroughly twice, second time asked an employee who said "no" confidently even though she didn't do jack shit to confirm, and also implied "DVD isn't out yet" is a good reason for the toys not to be in. What "section"/general area are they in? I looked around in this one area with lots of game/movie toys, nothing. Or maybe my TRU just suck- wait, no, I already figured that out over a year ago...
It's not a sure thing that your TRU will get them. Mine never did. I'd say you looked in the right section though, as that's where I usually find NECA product when I'm not looking at my local TRU.
Oh. Great, well my TRU probably won't get them. What other stores have them? I only ever heard of TRU.
I just found this youtube reviewer and he told me the leg can kick forward in an upward rotation about 90 degrees...provided, the thigh flares outward. I guess this makes sense...when the thigh flares outward, that circular notch on the thigh armor has less chance of bumping into the hip panels. So... just like Gipsy Danger....these figs can do a bit more, than many people assume at first sight.
You have to do some serious bending of the pvc to achieve that. Not going to happen without force for mine & probably thousands of others. I was able to do some amazing things with Gipsy once i trimmed off a few areas. I'm not doing that for Striker.
^ Yeah, I didn't actually modify my Gipsy, but I with a little bit of force.. ( and I'm usually quite apprehensive about that ) my Gipsy is now able to this kind of wide boxer stance. So, not all hope is lost for Striker either. Might pick him up afteral.
Here is what can be done without force or mods. Nice range, just not direct forward running stances. I dont' find that fact a problem, still looks good standing next to the other Jaegars.
^ Thanks for the pics ! Clears up a lot of misunderstandings. Most youtube reviewers never take the effort to really show the max articulation potential all the way...and then some people who see those vids draw premature conclusions saying they're crap.
Striker has pretty good articulation IMO, but the ankles on his really kill it. They are pretty restricted. Not completely useless, but if they were as nice as the ankles on GD, then Striker would be perfect. That said, still poses pretty well
