If we're talking about the butt piece in robot mode, does it completely break off? I couldn't remember what piece it was that broke on this mold, but this particular piece had some resistance rotating upwards. It moved without breaking, but handling it now, it has the same resistance going the other way so I just left it. A pic:

You know, I never heard of any reports of breakage on the 2011 release. Figured that this 2013 reproduction would suffer the same fate as the GDO and Terrorcon, but maybe I got lucky?

On another note, I regretted getting rid of my 2011 BB, Arcee and SS. I was not going to pay 30.00+ each to replace them, especially BB (I think I saw him going for 40+) so I was excited that they recently showed up at the discount stores. I was afraid that they'd have issues like the voyager re-releases with OP missing paint on the doors or Bulkhead having stress marks, but they're essentially the same.

The two things I did notice was that SS's vertical stabilizer is very hard to pull apart and that Arcee's chest pieces close closer together. My friend has a discount store set too and they're the same on his. Here's a pic of my 2011 Arcee release followed by the 2013. Not sure if any of this is useful to anyone, but just my observations:

Yeah, his ass-horns (teehee!) clip shattered as I tried to transform it. Thankfully it stays on in vehicle mode.

My solution to FE Arcee was to insert a small pin in the holes to close the gap between her chest halves. Holds together very well now.

Rear shot of the mods I performed on BH Prowl (getting the roof kibble on his back was a lot more complicated than it looks since the addition of the shoulder missiles mucks up some of the friction tolerances he'd otherwise have to simply clip the roof kibble on the back without any further parts). I actually shoved his stock gun (the one that includes the firing missile) into the small of his back as part of the process, lol.

    NP, and thanks!

On a side note, just cracked open Target exclusive Voyager Darksteel and I have to say I really like this guy. Super tight joints, neat chunky robot mode, and decent dragon alt mode. Grappling hook / beast axe accessory is really odd but not too bad (at least it plugs into his back for easy storage).

That said, I also saw Deluxe Sky Lynx at the same Target and really couldn't bring myself to purchase him. He just looks so spindly and off-model from his Predacons Rising movie CGI design. I actually think Transformers GO! Bakudora would make for a better stand-in, and like the Ripclaw mold and colors on that figure more. Anyone have pictures of Bakudora next to Darksteel?

I had serious reservations about Skylynx as well, but once I got him I wound up liking him quite a bit. I agree that he's horribly off-model, but I don't really think Darksteel is much/any better in that regard. The show-predacons look like a mish-mash of all four non-predaking pred molds to me.

I mean he's certainly not the greatest figure of the line, but I was honestly pleasantly surprised by skylynx. I was expecting a 8.0 on the airachnid scale of disappointment and didn't get it. Then again I also agree that Bakudora is sexy as hell, so don't let me even try to talk you out of that :)

Yeah, it's weird how none of the non-Predaking figures match the on-show models for Darksteel and Skylynx, not even their namesake toys. There are definitely elements of Lazerback/Vertebreak as far as the torso design goes in one of the on-show character models, though that mold lacks the requisite wings (and all three Preds had 'em and could fly). Yet another is more greenish teal in color that matches Gaidora, but again, the janky legs and missing wings on the toy are inaccurate.

Of the winged figures, there's the Grimwing/Darksteel/Budora molds, the Skylynx mold which is way too spindly/skeletal looking (the on-show character models were more squat and powerfully built), and that just leaves the Ripclaw mold (which looks pretty neat in both modes and has wings, though the clawed tail isn't accurate to any of the two on-show characters). Agreed that Bakudora looks amazing and I want him simply because of the colors and sculpting of the Ripclaw mold (plus the new bot head).

It's like the show designers saw the toys they had to work with, realized they could only budget in two CGI character models, and just picked and chose elements from the toys to use for Predacons Rising. Just really strange.

In any case, I think Darksteel and Bakudora will be my two Predacons Rising stand-ins, and I may just pick up Skylynx on clearance or something during the holidays, no rush on him. :D

Did you rotate the little tabs/pieces when first transforming him? To my knowledge it's not shown in the instructions.

Sorry I know these guys are not part of the prime show but they're my prime verse customs in my tfp collection

anyways if Dreadwing had a twin Skyquake, then why not Wheeljack have a little brother Rodimus.....

And of course Rodimus also saves his buddy Blurr from Shockwave's Vehicon army clone project
    [IMG]

I still have me customs and will post soon but here are the threads for these two guys

I'm not a fan of Hot Rod / Rodimus by any stretch of the imagination (the character just grates my nerves), but that's a nifty custom! I love Blurr the most; the Vehicon mold just works for his speedster frame!

They're from the Dr. Wu add-on/upgrade set for Classics Ravage (that came with Classics Hound). I ended up also buying the MGS missiles too and liked them better on Ravage, so I gave the Dr. Wu missiles to RID Ultra Magnus.

I also painted the tips red and they look nice on him. Cross posted on the Cool Stuff and Transformers Combat Pics thread (I also ended up getting a custom Motormaster while I was at it :D ):

Personally, I liked this version of Ultra Magnus than the one which was a repaint of Optimus.
