For anyone interested in converting their IDW Bumblebee to a modern Hubcap

I get more of a decepticharge vibe but I'm still down for a purchase

 

I already got the first hubcap release from him.

 

Meh. If I am going to be paying 32 for a Hubcap, I might as well wait for igear to make one for 35.

 

Wait, does it have light piping? One pic has the orange face with black eyes, while the other has him with blue.

 

I think we need more Decepticharge in the TF world. A yellow sports car with a young megatronish face is very appealing to me.

This on the other hand, just doesn't do it for me.

 

I think they both have blue light piping, just the orange on the face of the one makes the eyes look darker. Previous Renderform kits have had light piping and are great quality. I have the kit for Goldbug and the one for Skyfall and they are really worth it in my opinion. This kit looks pretty cool, but for me I prefer his Bumper and Hubcap kits for the Classics Bumblebee mold. Still for anyone that wants a more updated Hubcap this kit could be just the thing.

This is not as good as their last versions by any means! IMO these are just odd looking.

 

Honestly, it looks more like it puts Bumblebee into Sylvester Stallone mode.

I'm considering this, but only barely. I would much rather have had a re-release of RTS compatible version.

When Renderform's previous version came out, I passed on it because I wasn't looking to get all my 84-86 minibots squared away through Classics. Thanks to the 2012-2013 iGear bots, Hubcap finally became relevant to my collection.

Compared to the Classics/RTS heads, this seems like a stopgap. It doesn't have the same gravitas. Also - those aren't lucky draw weapons - they're unlucky draw. If I do order, I really hope I don't get them - they don't match anything in my collection. Chromed weapons as a lucky draw would be preferable.

 

I do enjoy Renderform's kits and got many of them, this one ( Retro Edition) I like the riffles and that's the reason it's sitting in my POL (don't care for IDW Bee mold).
I mix and match all my arsenal from Renderform and most of my TF's are armed by them.

 

Man that head looks wrong. The eyes are huge and not in any way that looks good.

 

Since I already have a custom hubcap, I would rather have a bumper head released.

 

I think it's that the head just seems too large for the body. TF proportions are tricky…

Gonna pick up a kit though. I got a few of these Bumblebees waiting to be turned into other characters anyway. (Was gonna make a Nightbeat until I learned there's an actual release coming out.)

 

Not even Rendetform can save that mould.

 

Upsize the head, slap some spires on the sides, repaint and boom! Crazy lips Overlord head is done!
