My Prowl isn't perfect... Splash of white on the helmet, dirty scrapes on the right shoulder, and a touch up on his hood that seriously looks like someone used liquid paper to hide a scratch. This was straight out of the box and transformed BTW.

Could be worse I suppose; in the right hands maybe someone can help me touch up.

Got mine yesterday,he is perfect! i love him....my nitpick is that the head can only move side to side and when i look at him from the side its like his head looks a bit down all the time.....also to lock the chest requires a lot of force,im afraid im gonna break it...also in the cartoon the car doors had kinda like a tip in the end which doesnt exist on the toy...anyway minor stuff :)

That sounds about right. The toy sells for around ~50$ USD in Asia, then throw in ~15$ shipping.

If you mean other domestic retailers as in BBTS and the like, you're paying middle-man markup on those. They're paying that ~$60 themselves, and then charge that extra $20 to make a profit.

My MP Prowl repaint - to Diaclone colours Blusestreak

When I got my MP17 mine had splotchy dirty white paint all over it .I was extremely upset considering I waited nearly 30 years for this figure .
I went out and immediately purchased another one from a local guy who had one in stock how got it from Hong Kong . He was more expensive but I am glad to say this time there were absolutely no QC issues on the second one. However I immediately decided I am not going to waste the other figure so I stripped it down and took off all of the paint in most areas and painted him in Racing blue and gloss aluminium to make what I think is the closest match to the diaclone colours of Bluestreak . I swear seeing this version in the cartoon only once in the background. Anyway here is my custom MP Bluestreak. let me know what you guys think!:)

^ Dude, that is by far the best and most well-spirited "lemonade" I've ever seen anyone make out of a "lemon" figure.

Oh yeah my Prowl came in yesterday, blew me away.

Ebay Is good , but I find when I buy stuff from Tawain nad cheaper prices there usually some QC issue with the item , including Hot Toys Figures . I have received some items that are excellent while others are not .

Best bet is to get them from Hong Kong , as sellers there seem to have better stock and they have respect for their buyers and wont send them rubbish.

Mikesgtrs1, get that shit up on the Radicons.

AWESOME work. I know a lot of people who will readily maim or murder (maybe both) to get a Prowl mold in those colours.

phenominal figure! First I love the old Z cars so....easy to like the Alt mode. Plus Prowl is one of the handful of figures I had as a child in the 80's. So I am beyond happy that we got him to this quality, and so soon in the revised masterpiece line. The other Nissans/Datsuns will be icing on a already sweet cake! Minor paint error... Nothing worse then any qc in 84 or G1 reissue... So Bring on the next one=)

The tips are there, they are just shown more pronounced in the cartoon.

Just got mine in last week, and I love Prowl. I can't wait for his two mold-brothers now!

Mine had some minimal, very minor paint issues like several people mentioned, but nothing that I don't chalk up to typical mass-produced paint flaws. I can touch them up over time, as he gets more scratches anyways. Nothing near the level of screw-ups like Sideswipe (and I loved Sideswipe too, but mine had some really bad paint masking) so I'm extremely happy with the condition mine came in.

One thing I'm doing that a lot of people don't seem to do (and it goes against the official pics and instructions, so clearly what I'm doing isn't "right") is instead of keeping the back straight out and the guns stowed under the roof flap, I tucked the cannons back in under his torso (behind his shoulders) and push the back down so that the back joint that holds the roof on collapses more, and the backpack sits lower, at a slight angle. But it pegs onto the top of the cannon hinge, and makes him slimmer from front to back.

Downside is, he doesn't look as clean from the back as it shows a little more of the black hollow area behind his head, but I dislike how far out the backpack sits in the proper mode. I'll post pics tomorrow, it's too dark to take clear pics to show what I mean. (I'm pegging in the black chest flap at the angle, so that's not an issue. The torso locks perfectly in place.)

^^ Yeah, that's how I transformed mine initially before I realised they want you to tab the windscreen into the bonnet.
The way you're doing it means you can peg the chest flap in straight too as the windscreen not being tabbed in means there's nothing to force it springing up anymore.
I did find it took a lot of force collapsing the hinge backwards, but it didn't feel like I was wrecking anything doing it either.
