Does anyone know how tall the Gipsy Danger statuette will be? Looks to be about the height of a Blu-Ray case, judging by the product pics.

 

Looking at the current Pacific Rim box office gross it seems that this movie just didn't cut it in the USA.

Current box office total is estimated around US$400m with 75% being non-USA revenue.

This is a real test of the 'Hollywood execs' stomachs to see if a poor domestic performance coupled with strong foreign performance is enough to greenlight a sequel.

 

Oh Gosh, I hope there's a version with the Japanese dialogue intact, people in Asia never got to hear it.

I can't believe they had to dub some of the dialogue for the film. That's pretty weenie.

 

There is no real reason to dub all the Japanese dialogue in English, though I suspect WB did this to easily market the film in South Korea, which still has a lot of anti-Japanese sentiment.

 

I'm praying so hard that there will be a version that still has the Japanese lines intact, I'm willing to pay shipping just to get it. I would seriously lose a lot of faith if they redubbed the lines for every region's release.

 

Just looked at the price of the collector's edition on Amazon. Yeah, no.

Seriously?! The lines were left intact when I saw it in theaters, so why dub over them now?! Well, Region B will be released on Nov 25 so who knows, maybe they'll be left intact.

 

I've seen this movie like 4 or 5 times now and it just keeps getting better and better. Man, i'd really luv to have my own Jaeger... protecting the land, the mountains & the preserved wildlife areas. I think i'd call him... Apache Prime ...out of the luv & respect i have for the Transformer franchise & my Native American heritage.

Damn, i really reverted back to 10 years old on that one. What can i say, this movie truly brings out the kid in me.

 

The sequel was greenlit before Pacific Rim came out.

 

Before it bombed (pretty much) in the States though.

 

I can't wait til next Tuesday! This is gonna be playing 24/7 in my dorm because shut up its my TV.  

 

Yeh but what if it is a success in DVD and BluRay sales? Wouldnt that help the movie to get a sequel? :S
