What does Hasbro have to do with this? I was pointing out to another member what Zambot was talking about when he said TFC Toys is plagued with issues.

TFC Toys used to address problems, and fix them, but now they don't:/

You named like three things, chief. Not exactly a plague.

    - hips
    - blender
    - some flaps

All the QC issues you named otherwise are a percent of a percent of a percent. Pretty standard at any level of production. No matter the cost.

I think we can reach a common consensus that TfC products have some flaws, certainly not as much as what some of us like to claim but like every other toy, it falls short of the imaginary lofty standards we declare upon them. Uranos and Herc both look impressive on any shelf as a display piece once you get them to stand steady.

However, for the price they charge, if there are other cheaper and better 3p products then why not?

You picked three from a slightly longer list. Hip issues happening twice is nothing to ignore.

Just got my Uranos set and I love it! Well, except maybe the combined mode. Not totally feeling it.

And on the topic of TFC and Uranos in particular, is Uranos too expensive? Probably, but that goes for most 3Ps out there (save for maybe MMC and FT Quakewave).

I now have FP Bruticus, FP Menasor (4 of them), Green Giant, Hercules, Bolvis and now Uranos. I have yet to regret buying any of them because they are all great in their own rights. I can't go into the details of why one is better or the other is worse. All I know is when I look at them, I feel happy. Happy that the combiners I never had as a child are now right in front of me, articulated, massive and the looking the way I always imagined them to be.

Love the pic....I hope you didn't get a 'riddled' set that is 'plagued with qc flaws' tho ;)

And that is the bottom line which the haters don't seem to get. At all.

We are all different and what one will not like another will love. It gets tiresome reading the same hyperbole bullshit twisted and manipulated to fit their agenda from the same members over and over again. We get it that they don't like it (ffs we really do!), what they don't get is that others do.

Everyone is allowed their personal opinion of something they may/may not own but the constant need to ram it down others' throats as fact is rather pathetic. Fuck 'em, not worth the time responding.

Indeed. As I recently stated in another thread, my Perseus is a flop. Literally. Straight out of the box it can only hold one pose. And on a glass shelf, even that is a struggle. Anything else and the hips give way and it crashes to the ground. That might be only one problem, but its a pretty bloody big one wouldn't you think? When I pay $450 for a toy it should at least be able to hold more than one pose. I know that many others have Herc/Perseus and have no problems, but I don't give a flying f@$# about yours, or yours, or even yours. What matters to me is MINE. And when I pay $450 for one combiner that struggles to even stand, then buy another one (Uranos) that while better, is still a far cry from the other 3 combiners I have, I'm allowed to tell you that I wouldn't buy Ares is it was available as a $100 gift set. When I see that a not insignificant number of other people have had the same issues as me, I'm allowed to question why TFC don't seem to be interested in altering their designs to try to eliminate this issue. That ain't hating. That's talking from experience.

And after all that, I still love all my combiners. They all have flaws, but they also all are overall, awesome. Like dew, when I look at my combiners, it makes me happy. Even Perseus. While he wasn't worth anywhere near $450, I chalk that up to experience and enjoy it for what it is - A big-ass robot made up of 6 other robots that towers over most of my collection.

And yes, there are a noticeable percentage of members hating on TFC. But don't act like the TFC fanboi club doesn't barge into other megathreads hating on other 3P projects, just go look at the FP Menasor thread. It's sometimes honestly like watching a turbo vs VTEC (y0) argument. And that's sad.

(This wasn't directed at you Transformed, just quoted your post to reference my argument. :) )

Kind of makes me shy of finishing Ares. Since I already have Nemean ordered and payed for, is it possible to put the Uranos limbs on him and see if the hip problem is still there? Or is it not the same because the bots are different? It might give me a good idea though if I want to fork over the rest of the money to finish the set.

i suppose that if the connector port (energon port ) are the same of uranus and hercules, is possibile to "test" the hip problem on neman.

Uranos certainly helped solidify my decision to go with Rex over Ares. TFC make big cool robots indeed but wobbly looseness simply isn't acceptable anymore, least not for me. It's a basic QC tolerances requirement across the board for all figures, big, small, gestalt or not now, and if TFC can't even deliver on that basic level then I have no interest in giving them my money or at least not as much as I once would have.

I hope that when people get Nemean the first thing they do is test his ability to stand using either the Herc or Uranos bots as limbs. If he still has wobbly hip syndrome or loose connectors then I have zero interest in buying the set.

I may however eventually get whichever of their members turns out to be the best. Given my love of Beast Wars it'll probably be their not-Headstrong since I can easily consider him shattered glass Rhinox and Rhinox was by far my favorite character from the show and I think he'd look nice next to Generations Rhinox given they'll probably end up around the same size.

That's a good idea and will work well for testing out the hips etc :thumb

Pretty sure they displayed Hercules with their Rampage for an arm so they should use the same connectors.
