As far as I rember he just said a new direction, not a new direction for designs?

Even if he said a new direction for design, he could just be talking about robots that transform into dinosaurs.

 

I have to defend Bay on this one. How does anyone get "Bay is drastically changing the designs" from him saying he was "rebuilding the character designs from the ground up"? I don't get the feeling of any drastic changes at all in the designs from Bays statement. There will be changes and the designs have been changed but to say "drastically". Bay never said that. And if he did and you can prove me wrong, I will happily apologize.

i agree he never stated a drastic complete redesign if anything it's was more of a refresh in the design of some bots, plus we are getting new bots in the franchise which is a step in the right direction, you make a vaild point tony and some people will make any excuse to level criticism at bay if its not to the fans liking

Hmmmmmmm Bumblebee-ish looking...Cliffjumper? Would be cool for Cliffy's car to be COMPLETELY different to Bee's, but the Robot forms being near identical.

However, i can totaly see a more beefed up Dino/Mirage as well, only time will tell!

 

Compare this to Dino in DOTM, this version looks a more simplified version, hell i can kinda tell where parts of the car on this version and not just the chest and doors on his back. (as well as i can with a blurred photo, looks as if the read of the car is on his arms, or bits of it anyway)

Bay never said a drastic redesign, he said it would change yes, but not drastically, lets wait till we see Prime and Bee, yes? Just because this is a bay film, doesn't mean it will suck, already this film is sound more interesting than the first 3 films, especially ROTF.

If you want a Transformers film that suits you, there is one...it was released in 1984...

 

The more I look at it the more I get a Bee vibe - it looks like the abs he got in DOTM are there, and the visored face looks very much like Bee's battle mask (I'm guessing the black isn't the right half but a central stripe given the angle he's facing).

What with all the hints we've been getting about jellyfish, and I'm sure there was some mention somewhere sometime about the obelisk thing being able to duplicate things, my imagination's having a field day wondering if this new Bot (and maybe one or two of the others) are created by it copying Bumblebee and it scans the Pagani, or something along those lines.

Of course, I'm probably about about 300 million light years off...

All my money is on Dino, I know it has been said that Sideswipe and Dino wont return but I still feel that its Dino, I don't see anything Bumblebee related to do with him, he even looks like he has the long extensions coming off his shoulders that Dino had, also I don't think its Cliffjumper, I know people will argue with me that comic books don't count but for anyone who read the reign of Starscream you would know that Cliffjumper, Smokescreen, Air Raid and Camshaft were all killed on Mars by Starscreams troops, so for me its safe to say we can rule out all of those characters from being in any film, unless they release more comics for the next film explaining the return of any of those characters like they did for Arcee, Elita and Chromia I dont think we will be seeing them at all.

 

I'm surprised only 1 other person has said anything about the feline face on his torso. But if you look at his head, it looks like he's wearing an open-faced motocross style helmet with a black visor, and flames coming up from the back. You can see it if you picture him looking down and to his right.

 

Ill say while I liked the comics, not a one of them was cannon to the movies. In the reign of Starscream if you remember, one of the Autobots Screamer stung up to the new cube he tried to make was Elita-1. And she was killed. Yet she shows up in ROTF?
