Dude, weren't you a mod before? Cause I swear mods or even ex mods should know better then to troll members.

Is there something wrong saying you feel beat up by these prices on everything? Or do we all have to agree with your greatness on everything?

Hey if your fine knowing your paying $120 more for something, then god bless you! But the trolling is ooooooold at this point. As an old mod, yeah you should know the ignore feature works.

    But whatever keep trolling.

It is not trolling when a) you make a thread complaining about a subject for days.

Then b) you make a thread complaining about exactly what you defended days prior.

Then c) someone points that out.

Maybe if you read, I was defending Sidecutter. You know, the small guy, you see him discounting this by $100+ bucks? Read what I wrote, then comment. Or else, you know, your trolling.

What I wrote about BBTS with FansProject, was profit, pure profit. But hey, here is the thing, I am not hating on BBTS here. Good for them. There are plenty of people willing to throw money at them.

But I have a right to say I am feeling beat up by these prices.

Isn't kickback still a mod. Plus I always liked him, he was freaking hilarious.

You sure do have that right. And likewise, others have a right to say, "Yo bro, you're totally being a hypocrite."

You do realize retail markup for anything you buy non-wholesale (not Sam's Club wholesale, but real wholesale) is between 35 & 50 percent. Retailers have to pay the bills too. They can't possibly buy the items in bulk at wholesale prices then charge you the same price. I purchased my Fort Max for $350 and don't feel ripped at all. Had it sold out and the after market price was reaching double retail, I'd be laughing at you. As is, buy it now and be happy or shut up and move on. Complaining about a retailer making a profit is completely asinine. Complaining about a $120 discount on a fantastic toy that has only come around twice in the last 30 years is even worse. I'll probably buy another and keep it MISB. I guess that makes me a stooge. Oh well.

Hypocrite how? Defending a mom and pop is different then defending a Walmart. I'll let you guess the mom and pop and the walmart in this case.

Hyprocrite cause I spent the money on MSRPx3, then I'll take it. The way I look at it, I paid $20 for him. Selling his midget 4 brothers who were already opened would have cost me $100 to sell them to prove the point. If that is hyporocite, fine, at least it is not being ******ed.

I also don't think people get the concept of liking the figure, but not liking the price and feeling ripped off. That can happen.

Shit I like the look of my Cartier Chronograph Pasha. Shit is beautiful. But I feel ripped off. That watch is not worth that money at all. Yeah, that happens.

Anyway, wasting my breath, your screaming at the wind. So we're good.

So tempting, but I've been spending money like crazy the past few days on PS3 games and a PS3 console with GTA V. I am gonna have to pass. Ugh...I wish this was a month long sale. :(

Hey I am not complaining they dropped it. Good for people who can get it at a dropped price, but as I stated, I feel beat up by these prices. All of em.

As for prices and profit, there is reasonable profit and unreasonable profit. What I realize about this hobby and SOME of the fans (not all) is that nothing is unreasonable. I just wish I had those fans budgets.

Unfortunately this hobby is getting too expensive. I have a kid, mortgage, 401k, college savings for my kid, bills. At this point, spending this much money on plastic just doesn't make sense any longer. Especially seeing people making a KILLING on it.

Especially since these things aren't worth the money. I see a huge price drop in TF future.

To chime in for a quick moment in your guys' debate: this is why I buy what I like now instead of what might be worth something down the road, like I used to in my younger days of collecting Transformers. If my small collection of Masterpiece figures that I've "invested" $1000 dollars in total so far drop to $100 bucks for all of the figures I've bought, that's cool as I have no intention in selling them...ever!!

I am really selective in what I buy though when it comes to Transformer toys (this is the only toy line I collect). I don't try to collect everything as I don't want to feel cluttered by a bunch of toys, my goal is just to collect the 1984 series G1 Masterpiece figures. Heck...after looking over Fort Max's pics over at BBTS just now, I can't say that I am wanting him all that much, even at his sale price. He's not THAT attractive of a figure that I feel I must have. Besides, I don't have sentimental feelings for him either despite being a kid who grew up during the G1 era of Transformers. However, I outgrew Transformers in 1988 by the time Fort Max was released, as I was an early teenager by that time; that's probably why Fort Max means nothing to me except as a big ass Transformer toy with a gimmick who is super expensive. I'd rather save that money for Masterpiece Prowl and Masterpiece Bluestreak.

Sort of what happened in the 1/6th community. Read up on it here: 1:6 scale modeling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Back in the day when I did it, you could get a fully kitted figure for 40-50 bucks. Premium super detailed stuff with 2x-3x gear were in the 70-80 dollar range. Now, you can't get a US Army infantryman in Afghanistan figure...a basic "troop builder" style figure, for less than 130 bucks. That kind of price increase really priced me and a lot of people out of the hobby for sure.

Though on the flipside, the figures tend to be worth it. The level of detail and "realism" found in 1/6th in this day and age is just...fantastic.

At the end of the day, "collecting" toys should just a hobby and if you're wasting a significant portion of your income when you should be putting it into more important things, it's not the right hobby for you to be in.

Funny thing is, I really want to collect vintage cars. Getting that vintage stang now doesn't seem rediculous at all at these prices lately.

Well, the other things are taken care of. But your hobby should be enjoyable and seem reasonable. At this point this hobby doesn't seem reasonable.

Maybe I will take up shooting next.

This is certainly a case of the remaining stock taking up way too much space in the TFSource warehouse and then BBTS just having to keep up with the neighbors, so to speak. Smallscale wholesale orders for this guy worked out to like $200ish a pop before factoring in shipping out of Japan so it's easy to see they are now clearing them out with a marginal profit or just breaking even.

All sources indicate that Encore Fort Max has sold well, very well.

Problem is NJ and Oregon is really far from each other.

Friend has been trying to get me to go to the range for a while, so I may need to go.

Meh! I paid full price for Fort Max, still happy. However, I did nab Artfire for $89.99. Always have been semi interested in that figure

Such a shame isn't it? If you ever needed advice on what you'd like to get, hit me up. I love showing new prospective gun owners what's good. Getting your first gun is important as there's no returning it, so you have to make sure your first is something you're really gonna like. Too many new owners who get guns and then they don't end up liking it because cost of ammo, recoil, comfort, or what not, and that is just because they didn't do enough research before dropping the money. When a good pistol runs you 500-600 bucks and a good mid range AR-15 is like 1200 bucks? You definitely want to spend time to research exactly what you're looking for.

True enough, i will default to TF source if i must to get one, i would prefer BBTS as if i bought via TFsource i have to pay sales tax which adds to my cost.
