The important thing here is that Enemy is red AND blue, making him the best.

I can't decide if this is a joke over how people over-react to these trivial kinds of things, or if you're serious. Really hoping its the former.

I never watched a single episode of G1 until I was about 17, so it holds absolutely no nostalgia value and yet I still prefer RIBFIR. Lets face it, Cartoon Rumble has probably done more then Rumble and Frenzy combined in any other fiction, comics included, and he was blue there, so that sticks to my mind as the proper way.

But if you prefer FIRRIB, then cool, whatever. Both are correct, no opinion really holds more over the other, especially now they actually swap between them in-universe, despite what people insist.

Nope! Rumble is blue, in Japan he's red, and Frenzy is blue.

Very few characters have remained the same color throughout the years...doesn't matter if its Rumble, Frenzy, Prowl, Sideswipe...colors change all the time. I prefer to think of Rumble and Frenzy as characters who just seem to prefer red and blue and occasionally borrow each others clothes. :p

I have never partook in any of these debates before mainly because I don't care.

what really troubled me and made my brain boil as a kid was how come galvertron is mostly silver in this comic and toy whilst a cooler looking purple in the cartoon. What soundwave being purple in the comics didn't help my childhood understanding of the transformer world either.

I can't remember but didn't scorponok have two slightly different colour schemes in the comic?

I honestly don't give a shit which one is red and which one is blue, but I do oh so love the venomous rage some spout out over the topic and because it crops up so frequently.

That was a funny read. Any time there is a more prominent version of a property in the media at a given time, it'll be considered a definitive version, or at least influence more people. Why do you think for so many years people thought Batman was supposed to be campy? That perception was so prevalent that it was almost a culture shock when Tim Burton's Batman film came out that people initially hated it.

In short, one's definitive version (even YOURS) does not dictate another's. However, pop media dictates most.

Sorry folks can't help myself;)  If Bob Budiansky wrote the bios for the G1 toys and the one he wrote for the red guy said rumble, well that some bitch is Rumble. Again pay no mind to that cartoon. They probably were doing so much coke back then we're lucky Prime was shown to be leading the Autobots. Ha!

It's all silly if you can't handle pointless changes in this franchising, Transformers ain't for you.

Plus i never see anyone getting worked up over Soundwave's eyes or Swindle's chest or Ratchet and Ironhide or Wheelie and the numerous figure/characters that had face plates converted to normal faces for the show (Bumble bee comes to mind) or weird thing with Broadside.
    ...
Wow....i just thought of those off the top of my head right now.

I look at it like this:
Sometimes, Frenzy is Red and Rumble is Blue.
And Sometimes, Rumble is Red and Frenzy is Blue.
That's all there is to it.

    Exactly.

All these nonsense RIBFIB whatever threads that pop up bi-weekly (!) can be easily evaded by accepting there's no true answer. Or actually: all answers ARE true.

I like to think that they're like Donald Duck's nephews, who used to switch hats to confuse the hell out him. Frenzy & Rumble are already little minions, mischievous troublemakers. They keep switching paint jobs.

^Exactly. Even if you want to deal with the toys, they're pretty much always redecos of each other, so you can just buy a red rumble and say he's frenzy.
