From what I’ve heard from people who’ve played the beta early, it sounds like multi is pretty much a direct copy/paste of Gears 3, mechanics-wise. Which is good, because 3 had the most solid mechanics in the entire series IMO.

No word on if the Retro or SOS are in, but the absolute shitstorm if they are will be hilarious.

For Gears 4 tho, it's not a dealbreaker for me tbh. Like, this had very serious, very real potential to be a complete excitement void, with it being a prequel or (god forbid) taking heavy inspiration from Judgment with human vs human garbage and stuff.

I do feel like there’s eventually going to be a catch, though. Apparently there’s a rumor going around about weapon attachments (chainsaws, bayonets etc) that came from a leaked beta image or something. And I definitely wouldn’t be happy about a COD gimmick like that being in there.

Still think the stuff should have been more clearly answered in Gears 3. Locust, Myrrah, Sires, the disc, etc. They hinted at it, but it was all just mostly brushed to the side and you had to read the books to see what was up. :/ That was always one of my only problems with 3's campaign.

Yeah, in the first 4 games they abused the SHIT out of "We have a plot device to kill them! ... wait fuck, it didn't work!" If they did it again in 4 after all the sacrifices in 3 it would just be silly. Although it's heavily implied there's a connection between the Locust bodies and the Swarm guys, even though all the imulsion is apparently gone.

I'd honestly be amazed if they managed to fuck up Doom. I mean there's definitely a lot of elements to Doom, but... it's mostly just going around blowing shit up. And all the gameplay looks fun as hell so far.
