Bruticus is connected using Energon Bruticus Maximus combiner parts. They articulate using the existing rotation and pivot points. (knees)
Blast Off is built from an Alt Prime with Alt Prowl arms. The shuttle body is a G1 Sky Lynx. I have no idea what scale it is.
Onslaught is a Masterpiece Prime with a heavily modded shoulder section and reshelled with the M.A.S.K. vehicle known as Rhino. No idea what scale it is.

Above, you can see the alt Skids is fitted within the cabin. The head shifting joint remains as part of the core figure. Make sure not to separate it from the torso. The arms are attached to the outside of the Blackhawk body. The fusalauge is bolted to the Alt Skids dashboard which was cut down to minimum specs. It's glued solid as well so the dashboard rotation mechanism does the swiveling. Take note of the white block under the arm attachment. It needs to be level with the outer body.

As you can see here, the arms don't actually get covered. They sit below the tail section. The white blocks mentioned earlier are now used to attach the tail section. Use a sturdy strip of styrene glued to the tail section and bolt it to the white blocks. By bolting it, you allow the tail sections to roll towards the back when in bot mode.

...and the arms swing out like so.

Above is the underside of the Jeep mold. The thing in the center is his attachment point to form Bruticus. If'n you wanna add one, there should be plenty of space under there if this configuration is used.

The Hound mold has that plastic piece that connects the lower torso to the upper chest/fenders/hood. Make two diagonal cut to this and glue a layer of styrene to the lower section of this connection point. Then, use a screw on each side of this joint to allow it to pivot. How high you make the cut will determine how high or low his chest sits. The original molds entire fenders were removed right under the hood line straight across to the door opening. Leave the factory door pins in place.

The head just rotates and become a center council-like thing and the seats need to be cut around it to fit when in Jeep mode. The dash board is out of a 77 CJ Jeep model kit and has the neck ball joint connected to it. The steering wheel swivel was used on this and swings out of the way but gets in the way when he forms Bruticus so I had to remove it.
The Jeep mold rocker panels remain in place but are notched out to allow the Sideswipe rockers to snug up in there. Once the Viper mold rockers are into place under the Jeep rockers, try to blunt-off the end of the pins to keep them from falling off. Once you get these new arms swung into place within the Jeep mode, build new fenders for him, then build the hood the fender extensions to fit them. (Picture 1, written in purple)

      Extras to note:

The seats are hinged on the lower torso to put them on his back in robot mode. They both have a little round thingy on them which allows the spare tire to clip onto.
The windshield has new hinges to allow it to lay forward onto the hood.
The grill is hinged further forward than usual to keep the arms hidden underneath. It also keeps the grill from binding with the hood when forming the waist.

      Hope that helps.

I've worked with the Vette and RX molds for combining and came up with........ Building combiners

I can't post this link in the forums as it may be seen as an attempt to recruit.
I would recommend the S2000 mold for an arm as it's probably the best suited mold for such a project. TFmaster had also created a Menasor using that mold and it's easily the most articulated and easy to connect alternator out there. The GT500 is very similar and would also work well too.

Then there's this d00ds project that uses the same figures. Custom Menasor - TFormers Community

He seems to be moving along quite well and even found a way to de-partsform the Hummer.

Onslaught uses all four connectors from an Energon Barricade. Two are located on the MP Prime toes and the other two are installed under the trucks step ramps (Which remove for combined mode) on the upper shoulders.

Brawls connector is glued firmly in the chest and does not pivot but does rotate.

Swindles is burried in the chest under the hood. It can rotate and pivot.

Votex connector is always exposed in robot and chopper mode but does still fold away. It still pivots and rotates.

...and here's Blast Off. His rotates and pivots. It exposesed in shuttle mode but is covered by the lower cabin of the shuttle in bot mode.

These connectors are strong enough to hold Bruticus' weight but only as far as posing for display purposes. When working in this size, they become very difficult to handle on a rugular basis.

      Hope that helps.

There's a complete thread here Masterpiece Combaticons/Bruticus - TFormers Community

Vortex starts on page 17. All you'll need for that character is a 1/48 Blackhawk, an Alternators Skids and an Energon combiner tank guy. The model kit itself is vertically pre-cut in all the right places. The only cutting that needs to be done is horizontal to separate the fusalage, a slice to separate the cockpit and a slash at the tail section. I'm unable to get detailed pics as he's packed up right now.

I hope the thread helps a little.
